Obama writes, "Today, I was asked a direct question and gave a direct answer: I believe that same-sex couples should be allowed to marry."

Except, no, you didn't give a direct answer. What you said on ABC was that "for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same-sex couples should be able to get married."

For you, personally? How about "for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that women should be able to vote?" Does that sound strong enough to you?

And then you write "I believe that in the eyes of the law, all Americans should be treated equally. And where states enact same-sex marriage, no federal act should invalidate them."

Sorry, where states ENACT same-sex marriage? What, like a fucking bonus option? Like "welcome to the United States, where we consider marriage to be a basic civil right and we will not restrict your life or liberty without due process UNLESS YOU'RE GAY"?!

This is not a states' issue. Discriminating against adult couples who wish to be married on the basis of sex is unconstitutional. Get your shit together, Obama.
