"Popova spends hours each day finding links to share with her audience, and argues that curating others’ work makes her just as much a creator as the people she blogs about. And just as deserving of credit."

...really? Is this pointing towards: I spend hours/weeks/months/years toiling over an idea and putting it together and getting it just right and polishing it and releasing it and someone else copies a link to it and deserves the same amount of credit?

"Just as" deserving? No way. You can elevate curation and review to an art form, I suppose, but the credit or respect you get for it is not equal to that which goes into the original works, nor should it be.
