Sometimes I'm a Wig-Wam, Sometimes I'm a Tee-Pee
My brief, inglorious
tenure with the Reserves has left a bruise.
Although it’s been four years since my departure from active duty, re-affiliation
was always part of the plan.  Now I am
quite suddenly forced to psychologically separate myself from the Navy...

I Have Reservations
”Show them your license and your orders and
see if they let you on, if not call the CDO.”
Those were my only instructions from the reserve PS3 who was my primary
point of contact at the NOSC.  After two
hours of waiting in line and three calls to the CDO, ...

If you have ever had a friend announce to you
his intention to buy a boat, you probably said, ” that’s great man, good for you ” - but you were probably thinking ” this poor, ignorant bastard is on a road to
wealth-destroying misery .”    A 34 year-old man,...

Congratulations
universe, you win.  I am officially back
in the Navy as a reservist.  Only time
will tell if this is just another way-point in a long string of under-informed
(read: bad) decisions but at this early stage I’m happy about it.  ’Happy’ is prob...

Dear friends,

Letty and I are kicking off our 3rd year of fundraising for the Safe from the Sun 5K run/walk held by the Melanoma International Foundation, a Philadelphia based non-profit that provides resources for Melanoma patients around the world.  We do this each year in memory of Letty's dad, Jim Rodgers, who passed away in 2012 following a long fight with his own Melanoma cancer.

In 2013 our fundraising team, the Racing Rangers raised $3,310 and last year we added another $3,590.  This year we hope to raise $4,000.  We have also made the Safe from the Sun 5K an excuse to spend a day outside cooking out with our friends after the race in Wilson Farm Park - I encourage you to join us on Sunday, April 19th for the run and to stick around for burgers and beers.

If you're fast, really fast, you can compete for the James E. Rodgers Trophy - the award for the top overall male runner!  The Foundation graciously named this award after Jim last year in recognition of Letty's fundraising effort.

This is a great event and everyone has a blast.  I hope you will come join us!

In addition to the race, we will hold a beef & beer benefit this year on Saturday, March 21st at the Chestnut Hill VFW.  $35 gets you all you can eat steak sandwiches, pulled-pork sandwiches, beer and wine.  All proceeds go to our fundraising effort.

I hope you can join us for one or both events!  More information can be found at www.RacingRangers.com or just give me a call if you have any questions.  If you can't attend, I hope you'll consider making a donation on our behalf.

Thanks

Tim and Letty
