What to Do if Your Virtual Assistant Sucks…

==> http://timefreedombusiness.com/what-to-do-if-your-virtual-assistant-sucks

This happens a lot…

Someone gets upset over a situation with their virtual assistant. They get frustrated because their VA didn’t complete a task as requested. The VA didn’t follow the instructions given and this person wasn’t sure how to handle the situation.

Of course, this is rather foreign to me because I honestly can’t figure out why you wouldn’t just tell the VA.

Then I remembered what it was like early in my outsourcing journey, treading on eggshells with virtual assistants.

How Much Does a Virtual Assistant Cost?

==> http://timefreedombusiness.com/faq-how-much-does-a-virtual-assistant-cost

“I want to hire help, but I have no idea how much a virtual assistant should cost me?”

There’s a common misconception that outsourcing your business costs money. The truth is exactly the opposite, though.

Outsourcing can actually make you money…

If you do it right.

That doesn’t mean that your new virtual assistant will work for free. It simply means that what you pay her should be easily recouped in added sales and profits.

When you hand over a lot of the day-to-day admin tasks to your assistant, you’ll be able to do more marketing and have more sales conversations, without all that other stuff pulling at you, and that means, you’ll be able to make more money.

Let me share a little story with you...

Business Success Tip: Turn off the Computer If You Just Don’t Feel Productive

If you’re trying to work, but feel distracted, tired or just don’t think you’re going to get much done – turn off the computer. There is no sense in tiring yourself out further getting nothing done. Even if you have a huge to do list, forcing it isn’t going to do you any good. Take a break, go for a walk, take a nap, do something fun and come back when you’re refreshed. You’ll get a lot more done then.

Instant Freedom from Work?

I would tell you to leave your cell phone at home, but since you probably need to stay in touch with family, the next best thing is to reassess how you’re using it.

With so much technology we’ve made ourselves available to everyone, all of the time. And while that can be a good thing, there’s also the downside of not being able to leave your work at the office.
If you find yourself constantly checking email or social media on your phone when you're out - oh, I don't know...living your life. Then delete them. Or at the very least, cut back on what you have access to on your phone.

You can create instant freedom from your work by leaving all those fancy apps off of your phone so you’re not accessible to your clients when you’re not in your office. Don’t train your clients to expect a response from you at all hours of the day and night.

When you don’t use your phone as an extension of your office, you’ll feel like you’re actually getting a break from work. You need the downtime, even if it's just going to dinner with friends. Besides, the big breakthroughs and ideas always happen when you’re away from your desk!

Take Back Your Life Tip #2: Set Your Work Hours:

This is a common piece of business advice that a lot of people give lip-service to. For myself, I didn’t REALLY understand the value of this until a few years into my own business venture. Setting your work hours increases your productivity, keeps you from burning out and forces you to maintain a normal and happy life outside of your computer which is a good thing.

Here’s why setting work hours works like a charm:

- If you have a limited time to work in, you’re more likely to get the tasks you’ve scheduled done quickly than if you give yourself the whole day to work.

- The longer you sit in front of the computer, the more likely you are to burn out and start allowing yourself to goof off and waste time. You know what happens. You start reading email, dropping by Facebook, checking stats, getting lost on blogs…etc…etc.

- If your computer is off for a good portion of the day, you can do normal things like take care of yourself, your home, see friends, go to movies…or do the things you like to do.

4 WAYS TO WORK SMARTER, NOT HARDER!

To me, it comes down to 4 key points:

1) Value your time
2) Leverage the strengths and time of others
3) Implement passive income models into your business
4) Don’t be afraid of technology

Here’s some thoughts on each of these:

Value Your Time: You need to set and limit your working hours. You probably run your business, so you can stay home with your family or have more freedom. Well, being a prisoner to your computer doesn’t do either of those things for you.

In addition, when you limit your work time, you are more productive. If you have only 3 hours to get work done, you’re more likely to stay focused and do what you need to do. If you have set aside the whole day to work, you’ll probably slack off and hang out at Facebook, check your email and stats endlessly or find other distractions. Sorry to say – that’s NOT working.

Leverage The Strength & Time of Others: Don’t think of yourself as a solo entrepreneur…think of yourself as a team. You can leverage the strength and time of others by:

- Outsourcing: Never try to do it all yourself!
- Partnering with others reaching the same target market as you (your competition doesn’t need to be your enemy!)
- Recruiting and training an affiliate force: Just setting up the script for your affiliate program isn’t enough…set up a stellar program instead.
- Being part of mastermind group that shares business strategies and experiences.

Implement Passive Income Models Into Your Business: Outsourcing and having your own well-managed affiliate program are ways to generate passive income. Other ways to add more passive income to your online business are:

- Join affiliate programs: You don’t have to fulfill all the orders and provide customer support.
- Implement pay-per-click strategies: Get steady and highly-targeted traffic to your website…try Facebook Ads.
- Use autoresponders: Effectively automate your follow-up process with our prospect and customers.
- Backend Sales & Upsells: When someone is already going to buy from you once, they’re more likely to buy more. Make sure you make extra offers.

Embracing Technology: This one might be tough for some non-technical people. Honestly, I’m not very technical and I get intimidated by technology…but I do know that if I can automate something in my business, it saves me time and money. That’s why I have a programmer on hand to help me with stuff like this. I don’t have to implement the technology myself. I just use it to my advantage in my business.

Some uses of technology can include…but the possibilities are ENDLESS!

- Autoresponders
- Shopping carts
- Membership sites
- Automating content addition to your sites
- Making customer/prospect management easier and more profitable
- Customer feedback, comments, reviews
- Affiliate program
- Tracking advertising and split testing

So please, stop doing so much work! Your business, family and friends will thank you for it!

The Outsourcing Rule That Changes Everything

==> http://timefreedombusiness.com/the-outsourcing-rule-that-changes-everything

The rule?

Well, it’s simple, really.

BEFORE you outsource any business task, you first need to:

a) Know how to do the task yourself.

or…

b) Have a good understanding of it.

Why?

Because if you don’t know how to do something yourself, it’s going to be really hard for you to know how to ask your assistant for what you want done, right?

Know how to do the task yourself.

When I made the switch to Infusionsoft in January 2015, I hired an expert to help me with the initial set up of the new system, but that was just the least of it.

My team does a lot of work in my shopping cart, but because I didn’t know anything about the Infusionsoft + CustomerHub systems, I knew that the only way that I would be able to ask them for help, was if I figured it out for myself first – and then created training that would teach them how I wanted things done.

So I approached the challenge in the same way that I always have (I mean I had to figure out how to build html websites using FrontPage way back in the day – oh the horror!)…
