Gamify 4lyf!
“You find the fun and snap! The job's a game!” So said Mary Poppins and her advice still stands. You might not have the original super nanny's magical carpet bag, but you can make almost any task a game thanks to a growing range of apps and online platforms.

Earlier this week, Oxford's Bodleian Library announced that it had digitized a 550 year old copy of the Gutenberg Bible along with a number of other ancient bibles, some of them quite beautiful. Not to be outdone, the British Library came out with its own announcement on Thursday:

The sociological imperative for games based learning: games alone are not enough, just as much as non-games alone are not enough. Turning something into a game is not enough. Turning a game into a non-game is not enough. A meta-level, socially interactive process needs to be introduced when doing either, which inevitably involves making sure that learning is retained and is used effectively as a tool for real, crucial, shareable problem solving.

I'm dying listening to these.
It turns out real person Donald Trump and fictional cartoon character Zapp Brannigan are cut from the same cloth.

Which describes you: teacher or student?

+Steve Wheeler of the UK's Plymouth University created the left-side graphic after discovering the right-side one (source unknown) on the web. He makes an interesting point about the contextual nature of these #technology fears. His student teachers when present at his lectures were RHS-people, but became LHS-folk when in a school classroom for teaching practice.

Friendly staff. Avacado smash is a winner, though consistency with the food is sometimes an issue.

Food is very average. Don't get the Persian eggs. The feta is nonexistent, the avocado was Brown and it was drenched in balsamic vinegar (which wasn't mentioned on the menu.)
