A state public works panel authorizes the potential use of eminent domain or condemnation to acquire 28 parcels that the California High-Speed Rail Authority needs for its route through Fresno, Kings and Madera counties.

Hundreds of people paid their respects at a memorial service Monday for Robert E. “Bob” Duncan, best known in the Fresno community as one of the most prominent supporters of Fresno State athletics. But family and friends also remembered Duncan, affectionately known as “Mr. Bulldog,” as a gentle, loving grandfather and a humble, caring philanthropist.

Jury says #Greyhound not to blame for deadly Fresno crash. ‘This time, Goliath won,’ attorney says (via Pablo Lopez and John Ellis)
The 2010 crash on Highway 99 killed six people in two vehicles, including the driver of the bus and three young Fresno women in an overturned SUV. Jurors left the courthouse without commenting.

Under state law, many types of court files, including civil lawsuits, are considered public records. But if you want to get a look, you might want to keep a credit card or checkbook handy.

Dave & Buster’s, the bar, restaurant and arcade billed as “Chuck E. Cheese’s for adults,” has filed paperwork needed to open a location in Fresno at Friant Road and Highway 41.

D&Bs are pretty awesome!  I only wished that it was further south ... like downtown.

It is, however, a great place for adults and kids!

Hopefully ... Fresno's Ikea will come downtown!
