This has always been the way I look at global warming. It doesn't matter if you believe it or not. The reality is burning fossil fuels, which in turn creates pollution, which then leads to millions of deaths a year is unacceptable. If we could reduce those deaths, and at the same time not have to deal with what might happen if temperatures are rising isn't it a win win? Fossil fuels will run out whether you believe in global warming, so we might as well start planning for the future now.

This is a very cool idea. So many times I have had to download an app just for one of use (mainly because the web app was so bad).

You can now "stream" apps from Google Search without having to install anything

This is pretty crazy...

For example, with one tap on a “Stream” button next to the HotelTonight app result, you’ll get a streamed version of the app, so that you can quickly and easily find what you need, and even complete a booking, just as if you were in the app itself. And if you like what you see, installing it is just a click away. This uses a new cloud-based technology that we’re currently experimenting with.

Sounds like it includes a pretty small group of apps to start, with more on the way eventually.

Really interesting articles on musk, tesla and space x.
When you pick up the phone, you don't expect Elon Musk to be on the other line.

This is a pretty cool idea from google. Only available in a few US cities at the moment, but what a great way of giving clear information to home owners about solar power.

It's going great to be an exciting year to be involved in web apps. Google is doing a great job of pushing standards and through its chrome events showing developers how to actually create web apps that feel like native apps.

Maybe one day we really won't need native apps and we can go back to developing software once that works on all devices. We aren't there yet, but I think we are making some good progress. Ahh the web dream.
Many big tech companies—absent Apple—are throwing weight behind a browser-based world.

A long, but very educational article on what Isis really wants.
The Islamic State is no mere collection of psychopaths. It is a religious group with carefully considered beliefs, among them that it is a key agent of the coming apocalypse. Here’s what that means for its strategy—and for how to stop it.

You know there is inequality in America, but I bet you don't really know how bad it is. This is a really simple, brilliant visualization of what we think and what is reality.

Surely it's time for a change?

Was really hoping in marshmallow google would sort out the quick settings but it's still annoyingly inconsistent from a ux perspective.

Wifi and Bluetooth have a drop down next to them to indicate further settings but mobile network doesn't, yet when you click you get more options.

But by and for the most annoying is the GPS. Why can I only toggle this on and off? Why isn't this a drop down like Bluetooth and wifi allowing me to choose between the 3 GPS modes? On top of that I can't even see which mode is active because the label always says location.

Great Response

This is how the governor of California dealt with climate change denier and republican presidential candidate, Ben Carson.  Well done Governor Brown,  well done indeed!

Great venue to watch live music in the heart of Huntington. My biggest issue is the price of drinks, they are ridiculously expensive. If you are going, make sure you go to a bar first, have a few drinks before getting ripped off inside.
