It would be an understatement to say I was less than impressed with the Philippines when I first visited as a backpacker. Sometimes experiencing a place like a vacationer with money CAN buy happiness.

With the U.S. dollar at a high against most currencies, there are lots of travel bargains in the coming year.
With the U.S. travel dollar strong across the globe, the cheapest places to travel this year is a long list for Americans going backpacking or on vacation.
