If you go to the language / input settings you can set the language of the Google spell checker to English (UK)

Yes, the updated Google Keyboard is nice, but one STUPID negative remains.
Though I've clearly set mine to English (UK), +Google still gives me the US spelling of a word every time!

Reclaiming Chestnut
Steve Habersetzer securing a section of the Chestnut tree taken down during the sidewalk project at the Hospital in Port Townsend. My thanks to Jim Shanness and Kate Burke for letting us know about the log. And a big round of thanks to the construction crew their help picking up the log and putting it in the truck. We'll make something special out of this wood.

Great article in the Leader about Jim Tolpin
For a small town the Leader is an insanely good newspaper!
The release of By Hand & Eye concludes a three-year journey of research and hard work to rediscover the language and techniques of tried-and-true design methods by Jim Tolpin and George Walker.

Wooden Racing Shells
A gorgeous video which should make anyone want to row. Bill Colley claims to be the last builder of wooden racing shells. My friend Steve Chapin, here in Port Townsend, keeps Bill company: www.pocockclassic.com. I hope the two of them can talk soon.

I'm biased. Seth is a friend and fellow conspirator in promoting woodworking and furniture making. Seth's furniture is a feast for the eye and a joy for the other senses.

I stayed at Cluxewe for four days in mid-July 2012. I found it a tranquil and relaxing place to be. I very much appreciated that it was run by the local First Nations people. A passing pod of Orca was a highlight!

I've lived a block away from Pane D'Amore for eight years and buy their bread frequently. The bread is superb and fresh. Their Seedy Sourdough is to die for. Highly recommended.
