It's great that Keller Graduate School has degrees in project management, but I'm not sure that targeting Flappy Bird addicts is the best use of their ad budget.

4,000,000 steps

One year ago I got a Fitbit One for Christmas. It has been one of the best gadgets I have ever owned. In the past year, I walked 4,000,825 steps, which is over 1,800 miles. Paired with the Fitbit Aria scale, I was able to track my physical activity and weight and get in the best shape I've been in in years.

My 2014 goal is to walk a half marathon (in addition to another 4 million steps of course).

Mom and Dad were just commenting from your Christmas picture that it looked like you had lost weight.

I always wanted to start a public shaming site for websites that email you passwords. This site is exactly what I would have done.

TIL: "cruft" is jargon originating in the computer industry. I had no idea until Fia was confused when I described all the junk we were clearing out of the closets as cruft.

I loved it when Andrew Luck grabbed the fumble and jumped over everyone to get it in the end zone!!!!

+Fia Kilbourn got me some math-inspired glasses for Christmas. The other two are φ and √2.

That Blue glass is the most inspired.

Got my +Leap Motion in the mail today! Too bad they're not letting anyone download the software until Monday. It's just a nice USB paperweight until then. :)

I always learn better with a project to keep me motivated, so I've been trying to put together an IR receiver with some help from +Eric Schlaepfer and others. Tonight I finally got it wired up and it works! (And I sorta understand why!) Next step: feed the output into an FPGA or microcontroller and decode the IR codes.

Did something similar with a MSP430 which is running on my TV at the moment.

Since this video I have made things much neater with a prototype board and jumper wires, but the principle works the same, enjoy... Raspberry Pi reading MSP430 reading IR Receiver

Fast service and good prices. I expected to drop the car off, but they said it would be ready in around 15 minutes. It was more like 30, but still fast enough that I didn't mind waiting. I'll be coming back for tire service in the future.
