A real paperback book! It's going to feel weird reading it...

I can't tolerate reading long form fiction or non-fiction on an electronic device. Reading from a real book is the only way to go.  It just works on a different wavelength for me.  Reading from a real book or a real print my brain actually can feel the difference - my mind is able to fully unwind.  Can't get that reading from an electronic device IMO.

I listened to this recently and actually had a few questions about some of the mechanics of Android TV. Would I be able to ask you via Hangouts?

Retraction

Turns out we had one legacy smoke detector from the previous residents in our house, and its batteries are dying. I didn't expect it to talk, so I assumed it was the +Nest Protect. Also, it is amazing how difficult it is to locate which smoke detector is beeping.

So, +Nest Protect is still working as expected. Sorry for the false alarm.

It can be really annoying when they do beep all the time!

+Nest fail. My wired smoke detectors are having issues with connectivity, so they've been using battery backup. Now the batteries are low, and in spite of the promises on the website, I'm being awakened by chirps all night instead of being notified in the app (which thinks my batteries are fine). Can't recommend these things if they can't do what they say.

This reflects my experience from UIUC math to Google as well, though I didn't have something like Sage to work on at the time.

It seems like I deal with this every day.

Fast service and good prices. I expected to drop the car off, but they said it would be ready in around 15 minutes. It was more like 30, but still fast enough that I didn't mind waiting. I'll be coming back for tire service in the future.
