Marblez always supervises while I'm doing the dishes. If she had opposable thumbs, she'd probably be using them to crack a whip at me.

I've stopped here multiple times during road trips and have always been happy stopping here for the night. The rooms are very clean, the beds are comfortable, and the indoor pool is a major plus for my kids. They allow pets, which is a requirement for us since we usually bring our golden retriever with us. The free breakfast is pretty good, although the last time we stopped here they were out of eggs, out of apple juice, and only offered skim milk. Hang on tight to the bar when taking a shower because the tubs are super slippery and they do not provide a mat for traction. I'm sure I'll be staying here again in the future.

We stopped here for dinner after about 13 hours on the road. The service was pretty slow even though it was not very busy. They only had two waitresses/cashiers so we waited quite a while to order and to pay the bill. The staff was very friendly. Typical Texas diner food is served here, like chicken fried steak, burgers, miscellaneous sandwiches, etc. I had a BLT, which was decent, but the fries were overcooked. My wife had a "good, but different" tortilla soup with a grilled cheese sandwich (hard to mess that up). Our kids split a nice piece of grilled salmon and a baked potato. They only offered butter for the potato, so no sour cream, cheese, chives, etc. Overall, the place was okay. It was nice to sit down for 1.5 hours after driving for so long and it certainly beat stopping at a Sonic, McDonalds, Dairy Queen, or other fast food place.

We have stopped at this IHOP for lunch twice during long roadtrips through Texas and both times the service was EXTREMELY slow. The restaurant had few tables occupied but we waited at least an hour to be seated, so they must have been very understaffed. The first time we did finally sit down and order but it took another hour to get our food. The second time we gave up and went to a McDonalds instead. The food was typical for IHOP. I had a greasy burger, which was fine with me. Too bad it took so long to get it!
