So yes, more than doubling the CPU speed and quadrupling the ram on our home nfs server has made a difference.

... assuming Solaris runs on this board (pretty sure it will, but keeping fingers crossed)

I wonder how much work I'll be able to do this week before the parts for my NFS server upgrade arrive?

Missed my OG today for Resolver IPA, only 1.074 (need more experience with BIAB and big beers, but winter is coming, so ..)

Also, remote management capabilities ftw! Not having to dismantle the room to get physical server access is wonderful.

Oh and replacing the rattling case fan and switching to a passively-cooled motherboard was also a win.

Our puppy, wearing the collar of shame - poor thing: now micro chipped and unlikely to have puppies of her own. #itsforthebestreallysniffsniff

OS/Net guardian. Solaris Engineer.
Introduction
I work on Solaris, and am the current tech lead of the ON consolidation at Oracle. I'm a Dad of two, a very proud husband of one, and play with cameras, computers and the kids. I live in NZ and blow off steam by going running, brewing beer, and mucking about on a mountain bike.

It was our 2nd time to Pizzeria Napoli tonight. We popped in about 5pm on a Friday and were the first customers there, but the place quickly filled up with the after work crowd. The staff were extremely friendly throughout our meal. We had great starters and wonderful pizza, tiramisu and excellent gelato for the kids. A+ would do business again :-)

A fantastic place to bring the kids. We spent ages just playing with the gravity bowl alone. Expensive, but very much worth a visit. Dad got to geek out too, which was most excellent!
