I’ve been fascinated by the way the internet has shrunk our world and it’s implications for artists. Ever since discovering the 1000Journals Project I’ve been involved in many different collaborative art projects including Moly_X: The International Sketchbook Exchange, Julia Kay’s Portrait Party and ArtHouse Co-Op’s Sketchbook Project.

I was also a founding member of the Plustastic Artist's Collective here on Google+.

Interview with me on Julia Kay’s Portrait Party Blog

Interview with me on Matt Rappaport’s Hangout Conversations show (with special guest Heather Fay)

I’m looking forward to exploring how the Hangouts feature of Google+ can deepen my existing artistic relationships and create new ones.

If you are an artist who is interested in collaborating or if you are interested in commissioning art or design work feel free to send me a message.

I can also bend a ski with the best of them, I love the outdoors and people who are passionate about it. Actually I’m interested in anyone who has found their true calling and is committed to pursuing it. I guess I am a fan of truth and clarity and have sought it through whatever means varying degrees of success.

Of the many artistic tributes to Prince I've seen, this one by painter and cartoonist David Mack stands out. Just gorgeous.

Here’s some process shots for my Elektra/Daredevil sketch cover. The final version included some grey tones executed with Copic markers in the background.

Michael Cho Steps Into The Ring For CIVIL WAR II Variants And Lithographs!

More cool work from Cho =]

From our friends at Marvel

You already saw his striking variant covers to your favorite Marvel titles in February. But now, acclaimed illustrator Michael Cho looks to put his iconic stamp on the comic event of 2016! Marvel is pleased to announce that each issue of CIVIL WAR II will feature Michael Cho variant covers and lithographs. Throughout the event, Cho’s seven images are set to feature two of your favorite Marvel heroes ready to go toe-to-toe – all done in the artist’s unique style. “If anyone proves that ‘less is more,’ it’s Michael Cho,” says Marvel Editor In Chief, Axel Alonso.  “Rest assured that not a single brushstroke will be wasted in any of his propaganda-influenced Civil War II covers, each of them a call to arms.  Who’s side are you on?”
But that’s not all! All seven of these striking images will also be available as promotional lithographs coinciding with the release of each issue! As the Marvel Universe prepares for war – don’t miss out on a single one of these vibrant variant covers and lush lithographs! Be sure to head over to your local comic shop and tell your retailers to reserve your copies today. Get in on the action when the explosive CIVIL WAR II #1 hits on June 1st!
Retailers: Check your Marvel Mailer for additional information on ordering variant covers and promotional lithographs. Marvel urges retailers to check their orders on these hotly anticipated variant covers as fan demand in the months to come can only increase.

Prince was a gift, a genius and a reminder that we have no limits.

Perhaps the most tremendous thing Prince showed us is how music can be the closest expression of freedom. His songs defied all the rules and taught us to let go of boundaries placed on us by the world and by each other.

The only person who can keep chains around us and box us up is ourselves. He never gave in. I'm grateful for his example. I'm that much more free because of Prince.

I hope he's found his place where he can create endless magic, mystery and music forever. The power in his songs moved me always. His music left me changed forever. I've said this before and I'll say it again, there is only one Prince.

I’ve decided to sell this Elektra/Daredevil sketch cover I did last year. It’s up for auction on eBay now. Please check it out if you’re interested as I’m currently unemployed now that ski season is over and could really use the cash.

Also, if anyone is interested in an original cover commission, please feel free to contact me. I have a number of these blank covers including The Walking Dead, Star Wars and many Marvel comics.

$50 for one character, $150 for a full-on anything goes design like you see here.

I don’t feel anyone is asking you to explain yourself. The issue is as artists, we have enough people pretending to do and steal our art, so we try to educate our own, especially about giving proper credit.

You did it right the first time by including “after…” on your work, when I alerted you to the proper artist and you digitally removed David Mazzuchelli’s name. And that was the time to replace it digitally with “after Barry Windsor-Smith” not leave it blank.

Without that acknowledgment, it seems like you’re just taking credit for someone else’s art and it's no longer a homage. I didn’t go the E-bay page and most likely other people didn’t. So those people and the people giving you compliments here, think it is your work.

Maybe the person who bought it on E-bay read your description and maybe they didn’t. People tend to miss details sometimes.

Holy crap! Luc Besson is doing VALERIAN?!?!? How did I not know this???

For those that may not know what the hell I’m talking about, Valerian is one of the most influential Franco-Belgian science fiction comics ever created. And Luc Besson is the director of The Fifth Element, one of the most visually dazzling sci-fi films I’ve ever seen. Consider me excited. :)
Yesterday we got our first look at French director Luc Besson's sci-fi epic Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, and, as promised, today we have four new photos from EW that show off more of the film's visual style. The outlet spoke to Besson, who's about halfway through the production, and he gave some context for some of these images that I'll paste below. But the rest of the interview is worth reading, too, so check it out i...
