So, since my Marin frame is dead, and I don't know when / if it will be coming back, I decided to build one of these instead :-)

This one made me smile +Paul Stickland
Book designer Chip Kidd knows all too well how often we judge things by first appearances. In this hilarious, fast-paced talk, he explains the two techniques designers use to communicate instantly — clarity and mystery — and when, why and how they work. He celebrates beautiful, useful pieces of design, skewers less successful work, and shares the thinking behind some of his own iconic book covers.

We are investigating a theft of a dozen high-spec bikes from a cycling competitors' camp at Great Wood, near Over Stowey, at the weekend. Most had been handmade or modified for racing and only one of them valued at less than £3000. The victims were teams taking part in a competition nearby; ...

Hi, just uploaded a review of the Weldtite Jetvalve Co2 Smart Seat Post Cartridge holder. It holds a max of 3 cartridges on your bike seat post for a quick alternative solution to inflating an inner tube rather than the old school pump. Check it out and let me know, as new to this review malarkey...

Helpful, no-nonsense car dealer. I came away with a new car, a decent trade-in on my old one and a smile on my face.

I pulled in here for a snack expecting just another bland motorway service station. How wrong I was! It has a lovely farm shop with proper produce and a nice selection of local gifts. Well worth a pit-stop

Helpful, friendly, straightforward. No 'car salesmen' types there, no up-sells, etc. We spoke to them on the phone and drove up from Dorset to look at a car. When we got there, we were given the keys, shown where it was in the yard and allowed to get on with it without someone hovering over us. We went for a test drive and the car was great; a good, honest example that hadn't been suspiciously cleaned up within an inch of its life. They won't negotiate on the prices, even if you ask, but to be fair you'd be hard pushed to find a better deal elsewhere anyway. Despite the distance, I'd happily buy from them again.
