For some reason the sun has no effect on the scene. i tried moving the sun inside the room but still nothing. I turned up the strength to 100, but still nothing. I checked I am running cycles renderer.

I turned the sun into a spot light and it works. So I turned the strength up to 10,000 and it lights the scene but there are many small dots on the screen. Here's what I am seeing - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOKrAytYcNg

Any ideas?

Turns out the shader needs to be set differently to the tutorial. http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?372992-Glass-shader-blocking-light-from-sun

The "Only one hinge point" part doesn't make sense to me. If you look at darts players they use their elbow and shoulder joints, and crucially the finger tips too, very well to be extremely accurate. For me, this action of the darts player is very similar to a ball toss just in a different direction.

This is an interesting subject and especially so because I have been taught it slightly differently by a very high level coach. It might be the case that he was unique in this respect. I've watched several videos to see how the pros serve. They all appear to have a single hinge point as you say, so I'm interested in figuring out exactly what is going on. From a physics point of view, it seems to me that if there is only one hinge point then aiming the ball placement inch perfect every time is not going to be possible. I'd be interested to know which players have the most consistent ball placement and biomechanically how they achieve this. It wouldn't surprise me if there were very small and hard to notice micro adjustments in the wrist and elbow that help aim the placement of the ball.

I am following the tutorial very carefully. At 6:34, how exactly do you move the camera? The screen cast keys show that you are pressing r and g to rotate and move camera respectively. I can get the rotation to work like in the video if I hit r, then hold shift and middle mouse drag. Is that correct? As for moving the camera forward towards the scene - how on do you do this? I tried pressing the g key and it moves sideways or up and down, but not forwards or backwards. Thanks

Edge Info seems to have disappeared in 2.73. Has it been moved or is it gone for good?

I have owned a Vaillant ecotec system boiler since September 2010 and up until May this year was very happy with it. Unfortunately, just 9 months past the 2 year warranty the boiler broke down. I called Vaillant but was told it was outside the warranty, so i had to call out an engineer at my expense and he told me that the PCB needed replacing. Because this is an expensive repair, I decided to take out Vaillant cover for one year in order to have the PCB replaced. In total the boiler breakdown has cost me £388, not to mention the inconvenience of having to use a neighbours house to wash our 2 year old daughter. It cost us £100 for the initial engineer and £288 for the Vaillant cover. I'm very disappointed in the company, because in the past I have seen much better reliability from Vaillant products. My uncle and my dad both swear by Vaillant boilers, which is why most of my family have them. We've never had any bad experiences with them until now. However, because of this very poor reliability on a boiler less than 3 years old, I am changing my opinion. Worcester Bosch give 5 years warranty on their boilers rather the just 2 years that I was offered. It's hard to stay loyal to Vaillant after what has happened to us.

Hertz Finchley have moved and not bothered to update the address on their google plus page. It's now at 707 Finchley Road. A car hire place should make sure their address is updated on all their listings across the web to avoid the nightmare I had collecting a car today :-(

Petru accommodated my fussiness very well. He understood I wanted everything done in a certain way and was happy for me to discuss with him how best to proceed throughout the job. Friendly, reliable, and good sense of humour too.
