That awkward moment when Apple tried to patent HTML 5.

Why is it that we never hear about the nasty stuff Apple is up to behind the curtains, where are the journalists? Apple trying to patent HTML5, tells a lot about the true motives behind banning Flash and pushing HTML. It's like when you try to watch a video on iOS, Apple tells you Flash is proprietary but they hijack you out of the browser into their Quicktime proprietary player. I guess Apple does not like Flash because they can't control it and push HTML5 because they can easily, at least try

Google Glass is dead, at least in its current form. And so it enters a grand, tragic graveyard of well-meaning but badly-received inventions and technology — a place containing flying cars and bad games consoles.

The folks over at iFixit have gotten their hands on one of Apple's new 27" Retina iMacs, and, as they are wont to do, immediately opened it up to find out what makes these things tick. Inside they ...

Curiously, the iPad Mini 3 is identical to last year's iPad Mini 2 -- the same screen, the same camera, the same A7 SoC, the same dimensions -- except it now has a Touch ID fingerprint sensor. Even weirder: Last year's iPad Mini 2 is still for sale, but starting $100 cheaper at just $300. Yes, in a complete 12-month product cycle, the only change Apple has made to the iPad Mini 3 is the addition of the Touch ID sensor -- and it'll cost you an ext...

Has Google lost sight of the basics? Like the broken automatic door at the main cafe at the corporation's main HQ?

In what has become a fall ritual, Apple on Thursday announced a pair of new iPads: the iPad Air 2 and the iPad Mini 3. In what is also starting to become a fall ritual, the company’s new tablets look a lot like the old ones. The headline is that...

Questions about bending iPhones gets German magazines on the Apple blacklist

I wrote about Apple's blacklist last year: http://goo.gl/H15zEU

The column was weirdly controversial; people actually argued that Apple doesn't have a blacklist.

Anyway, the German publication COMPUTER BILD tested the bend-ability of iPhone 6s, published a video of their test and then Apple did something uncharacteristic: They actually informed the publication that they were now on the blacklist.
