Most of us spend our lives running to and fro, having meetings, meeting deadlines, and doing tons of stuff that leaves us stressed and frazzled at the end of the day. I know stress first hand...I have been fighting cancer for months now, I have 3 very active kids, and I run several online businesses...

1. Breastfeed your baby - Breast really is best and it is the greener choice too. No bottles, no nipples, no cans of baby formula. Breastfeeding is waste free!2. Use cloth diapers - Reusing is always greener than buying one use disposables. When the naysayers argue about energy used laundering diapers just ask them if...

If you love pumpkins like I do then you still have plenty sitting around the house (inside and out). I buy them in bulk for decorative purposes and then hope that I can get creative enough to use them all before they start to go bad. One of the ways I use them is to...

You start to see the signs, the never ending strand of drool, the gnawing everything he/she can wrestle into the mouth, the fussiness; it’s the dreaded teething stage. All moms have experienced it, and most would say that teething is definitely not on their top 5 favorite stages of child rearing. When heading out to the...

How to Defeat the Squash Vine Borer #garden   #gardening   #homestead   #urbanhomestead   #pests   #squash   #pumpkins
I have been gardening for years and I have dealt with a variety of pests and bugs. I have grown pumpkins for many years and never really had a problem with anything munching on them. Then we moved to our new homestead and I started a new garden in a totally new space. Let's just...

Being eco-friendly is more about changing the way your family uses energy than buying new things to reduce usage. Remember, every item we buy requires energy to manufacture, package and ship. Even though a product helps you save water or electricity, energy is expended to create it.If you want to make your home a greener...

Taro Coconut Ice Cream #icecream   #homemade   #dessert   #thaifood
I came across delicious taro for the first time in an Asian market where I ordered taro bubble tea. I ordered it because the of the lovely purple color but quickly fell in love with the flavor. Afterwards I would often buy taro buns or taro popsicles from this same market as occasional treats. Last week I...

We’'ve all heard of coconuts right? You may or may not have heard of coconut oil but by now you probably have. Usually we get coconut dried, shaved, and thrown on a cream pie. But when we just eat the dried flesh of the coconut, we’re missing out on the best part. Coconut oil was once used...

Is the inclination to adopt a natural parenting style something you were born with or is it something you can learn? Can you actually learn to be crunchy? My answer is a resounding YES! I say this because I was not always a natural or crunchy person or parent. I learned to be crunchy over the...

Say what? Peeing on your compost? Yes, you read it right. It might seem like a slightly unorthodox gardening practice but it could be your own personal contribution to the green cause because compost can be greatly improved by the addition of human urine. Gardeners always want to improve their compost and their garden soil right? Yes!If you pee on...

Introduction

I am a serial entrepreneur and a work at home mother to three wonderful children and wife for 14 years to an incredibly hunky husband. I run several online businesses, I blog, and I am an ebook author. My primary niche and personal passion is natural living, green parenting, and fitness but I dabble in other things too. It is what I do and who I am. I have always considered myself a writer and have been writing novellas since I was a child. After I became a mother though I went into print marketing and that gave me the foundation and the skills required to marry my love of writing and selling with my rather geeky love of online marketing, social media, and web 2.0.

Bragging rights
Formerly worked in print marketing but abandoned that to start my own Internet based business in 2004.

We had an amazing experience with Cap City Restoration. They were so easy to work with, helped us through a challenging process (with insurance), and the quality of their work is fantastic. We have a gorgeous new roof and could not be happier with it. Thanks Cap City. We appreciate you!!
