I would be in marriage counseling too, if I was in the media all of the time.  What does it really matter?  I understand that Ben Affleck is involved in a bigger controversy pertaining to PBS, which seems more immediate than his love life.  Seems like they just want more dirt, or fuel for shame.  Guess that's the media for you, or is it propaganda?

In honor of International Yoga Day, I just want to say that yoga totally had it's way with me today.  It was like I had never practiced before.  Definitely enlightening in that I became more aware of physical blockages and my self-conscious attitude.  Lessons learned on the mat that I might be able to apply outside of my yoga practice.

Lord Shiva here is one of my favorite dieties, as is his consort, Kali, or Parvati, and their son Ganesh, remover of obstacles.  Seems very fitting after today.

Why 21 June was chosen as International Yoga Day?

United Nations has passed a resolution declaring June 21 every year as the International Yoga Day (World Yoga Day). Prime Minister Narendra Modi had urged the International Community to adopt 21 June as the International Yoga Day.

Every year in Northern hemisphere, the Summer Solstice falls on June 21. It is the day when Day is longest and the night is shortest. It is the day when Earth is at its closest distance from the Sun on its orbit.

From the perspective of yoga, the Summer Solstice marks the transition of Sun from Uttarayana to Dakshinayana, according to ancient Vedic Calendar. According to Vedic Books, it was the day when Lord Shiva, first taught Yoga to his disciples. The knowledge of Yoga first descended from Shiva on this day. We can say, June 21 as the Birthday of Yoga. This is the reason why several Yogic Preachers had advocated celebrating June 21 as the International Yoga Day.

A great article that supports pit bulls. It also recognizes that a lot of accidents happen that involve pit bulls, but that 99% of the time, it is due to the owners, not the dogs. To help prevent unwanted breeding, it is suggested to get your dog either spayed or neutered. This will decrease the number of abandoned dogs, strays and euthanized pit bulls.

What does euthanized mean? For many pit bulls, it means to stop living before their time, because they have no one to take care of them and the shelters are overfilled. Taking care of your dog, whether they are a pit bull, or not, will ensure that you both can enjoy each others company for years to come.

MONROE, Ohio (Angela Ingram) -- A local dog certainly lived up to the saying “dog is a man’s best friend.” A local family said if not for their pit bull, Ember, their son's medical emergency could have been much worse. The Daniels family

Hanuman Festival took place earlier this month in Boulder, CO.  Don't worry, they will be back next year after making stops in both Peru and Bali.  If you're looking to get involved and want to expand your knowledge of yoga, take a look at their schedule.  Both locations sound like a great experience, especially since March is spring break for me.
Upcoming Adventures. Sacred Valley, Peru October 24 – 31st, 2015. peru2015-sm Join Juan Pablo Barahona, Dayna Seraye and Yoshi Aono for an epic yoga alchemy adventure to the heart of the Sacred Valley. Practice shamanic yoga everyday amidst the “apus” – the spirits of the sacred mountains.

Enjoying the coolness of a calm pool of water.  Great for hot days, like today.  I'm not one to complain about the rain, because I truly miss it when it goes away, and so does Peaches.

I understand that the World Cup is going on and that the turf, not grass, is messing up some of the players.  As a high stakes game, I would be frustrated too.  I imagine my frustration is less though than trying to play my favorite sport without an arm, a leg or both.  Showing strength and fortitude in the face of adversity is admirable.  I imagine our women's team will overcome their obstacle and win another World Cup, like back in 1999.  Germany, I hear is the best team to beat.  #WORLDCUP #InTheFaceofAdversity

In a recent article from Trail and Timberline, author Rod Martinez reports on the dwindling number of #wolf populations throughout the United States.  In places like #Montana, "wolf pups (babies) can be killed (Martinez, 2015, p. 30).  The state of #Idaho hosts a yearly wolf hunting contest to see who can kill the most female wolves, the most wolves, and the largest wolf" (Martinez, 2015, p. 30).  As if that isn't inhuman enough, the state of #Alaska permits the use of vehicles and aircraft to separate a wolf from it's pack, run it ragged and then shoot it.

Acts like these are cruel and unnecessary, which should constitute as a punishable offense.  In the video below, wolves are given proper recognition for their part within the larger #ecosystem.  It's unfortunate that evidence needs to be presented in order to convince others of the impact wolves have on our natural surroundings.  In comparison to the previously mentioned information, the video, How Wolves Change Rivers, is easy to watch with children.

Introduction
I'm a second year school counselor, who is adamantly pursuing a professional license in private practice.  For fun, I like to play in the wilderness, travel, craft, write, exercise, and relax at home with my dog Peaches, a sweetheart and great companion. I make everyday another step towards living a fulfilling life.  As a person, and as a counselor, I would encourage you to do the same.  Who knows exactly what will happen tomorrow?  Live in peace, joy, happiness, and excitement; however that might look for you.  We are all truly blessed.
