NEW PROJECT: Call for Collaborators
Working Title: Private Pain, Silent Struggle
Since last fall, I have had the tremendous fortune to be a part of the Souls of Black Folk project sponsored by the Painted Bride Art Center. A group of artists have gathered once a month at the Painted Bride to discuss W.E.B. Dubois’ seminal work The Souls of Black Folk and its impact on our artistic practices and ongoing conversations about race and class. This project will culminate in an artist showcase in mid-May.
Read more about my call for collaborators in the attached photo and please respond/share if you (or someone you know) may be interested in participating!

This is a great video by Thomas Quinn that incorporates images shot by members of the Philadelphia School Closings Photo Collective back in 2013, including me and fellow G-town shooter Jill Saull... ‪#‎PHLed‬ ‪#‎GHS‬ ‪#‎Vaux‬

I listen to your radio conversation with Ed.Could not comment there because I don't use FacBook.

First, I finally found out how to pronounce your first name {LOL}.

I can tell by your voice, your passion for what you do. You seemed just as comfortable behind the mike as you've showed behind the camera. Oak Park after Dark, a great name, a great theme and a very interesting conversation with Ed. I loved the diversity of the initial conversation you had Ed. Together you talked more than just photography and you kept conversation real. Got my attention early into the conversation.

I am a happy camper!  Today's closing reception was a lovely gathering of folks from around town.  I am really grateful to the Oak Park Public Library, Oak Park Area Arts Council, and the West Town Links, Inc for hosting this event.

Night photography of Oak Park Illinois landmarks and interesting storefronts. An exploration of public and shared spaces and how they tell a story about a community.

And, here are photos by Debby Preiser from the closing reception co-hosted by the West Town Links, Inc. and the Oak Park Area Arts Council. We were treated to a reading by author L.A. Whitaker from her latest book entitled "The Chit'lin Coast: A Tale of Growing Up Black and Female in Mid-Twentieth Century Chicago" And I gave a short talk about "This Is My Home" It was a very lovely event and I'm very grateful to all of those who had a hand in organizing it. Thank you!!
