"We hold these truths to be self-evident..."
We know what Thomas Jefferson believed was self-evident, but what do our kids believe is self-evident?
What wrongs would they declare in their Kid's Declaration of Independence writing activity?

Enter the fantastical world of Roald Dahl with these great books. We've read about half of his books, and my goal is for us to read all of the ones made into movies, which is almost all of his books. #bookandmovie #ihsnet #kidlit #bookclubforkids http://buff.ly/2qVIcfs

Are you ready to embark on a new journey with a fun #RoaldDahl book for your kids to read? I am. Then crack open Fantastic Mr. Fox and read all about his amazing adventures, then watch the movie. How do they compare? #bookandmovie #kidlit #ihsnet

My husband did the same thing, giving a waffle iron, only he walked up to his Mom and said, "You'll never guess what you're getting, but after you open it we'll be able to make waffles."

I laugh my head off every time I hear this.

We have been slowly cooking our way around the world and this time we tried Swiss Mac and Cheese and it was amazing.
Of course, we also had a few less than stellar hits in our new #recipe attempts. I apparently do not understand how to cook bread.

Looking for a fun #birthdayparty idea for your kids? Try a Fairy Tale Scavenger hunt party and you'll have so much fun. We set up puzzles to figure out, and riddles to solve for the kids to get to the birthday cake! This was so much fun I'm adapting it for another party later.

I present to you The Ultimate Guide to Hands on Learning for Texas History also known as, "oh my goodness this took so much time to write."
But, I've got #handsonlearning suggestions for all of the major #historylessons you'll be teaching as you work through #Texashistory and #Texasgeography and I can't wait to teach this topic next year. #ihsnet
