Customizing Office 365 - Can I customize/tailor my Office 365 tenant to meet my needs? Absolutely! However, I would caution how far to take it… Please explore the platform and respective functionality before attempting to customize/alter it. A common customization is to revise the branding or look-and-feel. In this case, I would recommend starting with adding a company logo, and experimenting with the built-in themes. There are also other themes available for purchase f... http://ow.ly/2XGrI7

Office 365 Migration Process Primer - Office 365 Migration Process Primer – Inventory, Map and Migrate I have found that taking inventory, mapping content based on inventory, and then iterating migrations based on mapping to be a simple, repeatable pattern. Inventory As mentioned earlier under “What should we migrate?”, capturing an inventory of web applications, site collections and sites is a good plan.  I would also recommend capturing site details (overall size, cus... http://ow.ly/2XEhOO

Syncing a Forked Version of the Office Dev PnP Repository - Recently, while trying to review all the new crunchy goodness from the Office Dev PnP GitHub repository, I noticed that my forked repository was not getting updated. As a relative git and GitHub n00b, I had to figure this out and thought I would share my solution (really, it is because I am getting old and this is an easy place to find things). Turns out, if you are an old TFS hound, this is not an intuitive pr... http://ow.ly/2XqyrC

An Opinion About Security in Office 365 - An Opinion About Security in Office 365 In my opinion, I feel that having content in Office 365 is more secure that being stored on-premises.  Based on the initial top-ten list of questions, you OWN your data.  So it is still your responsibility for how access to the data is configured (custom permissions, external users, etc.) Note: External users can invite other external users to a site; sometimes without site administrator a... http://ow.ly/2XGj6W

What are the Office 365 Migration Types (or Approaches)? - What are the Office 365 Migration Types (or Approaches)? (Buy Tool, Manual, Build Custom) There is no built-in way to upload/restore a previously saved SharePoint site collection or site (via something like Backup-SPSite) to Office 365. At least I have not been able to find a way. It would be nice to have a Restore-SPSite option in Office 365 (like in on-premises SharePoint versions). However, I could see how ha... http://ow.ly/2Xwh6E
