Spring Lambs
Twin Lambs Born Sunday 3rd April
The first of this years lambs arrived on Sunday Morning between 6.30 and 7.30am.

Our Old English Southdown sheep are an ancient English breed known for easy lambing and so far this year has proved to be the case. Mother and the two lamb ewes are all doing well.
Meanwhile we are still expecting some more to come.

We rear our sheep as a registered rare breed flock and hope to sell on the ewes to help grow other flocks or establish new ones.
They are a small but sturdy sheep known as Babydolls because of their teddy bear smiling features. You can find our more at:

Nice hostel in a great location. We stayed in the "bunkhouse" and had four lads in a small but adequate room with two bunkbeds. The toilet and shower facilities were modern and clean however they had to be shared with three other rooms so sometimes we had to wait a while to use them. The bar/restaurant was fine and had a few real ales and stays open to 11pm. I found the cooked breakfast perfectly adequate but a little overpriced. Service was very friendly but a bit haphazard. The best thing about the hostel is certainly the location, which is stunning. You have instant access to some of the most beautiful walks in the country (and possibly the planet) but are also close enough to take advantage of the village of Grasmere. Facilities are basic but adequate, clean and modern. Well worth the reasonable price for the area.
