EXCERPT: But one consumer advocate says this plan would yield fewer updates and these would be slower in coming, because the FDA is not positioned to quickly act on the information. The proposal, says Allison Zieve of Public Citizen, is a ploy to avoid responsibility, because only the FDA could ensure labels are updated. And she notes there are some 400 generic drugs for which brand-name versions are not sold.

“This might be good for drug companies,” she says, “but not good for patients.”

While this new statute would pertain only to asbestos-mesothelioma lawsuits in Illinois, its factual and legal bases are sound -- other states should follow suit.
Asbestos is the quintessential example of corporations knowing that they were marketing deadly products and covering up the evidence for profit. By the 1930s, asbestos manufacturers were aware that their workers were dying at alarming rates, yet they hid the dangers for more than half a century. For decades, millions of construction workers unknowingly used the dangerous material as insulation, for fire retardation and many other purposes without...

Someone like this Parkton, NC Construction Worker or his family may be entitled to legal compensation from an asbestos lawsuit or a North Carolina workers comp claim filed by an NC lawyer because asbestos exposure causes mesothelioma, asbestos cancers like lung cancer, and asbestosis

A plaintiffs lawyer based in Wilmington, North Carolina handling cases involving: (1) asbestosis, lung cancer, or mesothelioma; and, (2) drug injury / serious side effects / adverse reactions.
I am a North Carolina plaintiffs lawyer who likes to help people.  I have many years of experience handling asbestos and mesothelioma claims as well as drug injury lawsuits.

I enjoy living near the coast with my wife and family, which in large part is why my law firm is located in Wilmington, NC, close to Wrightsville Beach.

I started the Law Offices of Thomas J. Lamb in 1996 after working at one of the nation’s largest plaintiff law firms, Ness Motley Loadholt Richardson & Poole, in Charleston, South Carolina. Prior to that, I worked on the other side of the fence at a defense firm, Keesal Young & Logan, in Long Beach, California.

I have an AV® Preeminent™ 5.0 out of 5 rating from the Martindale-Hubbell Lawyer Directory, which describes their AV® certification mark as "a significant rating accomplishment - a testament to the fact that a lawyer's peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence."

I was first licensed to practice law in California (1988). I was admitted thereafter to practice in the District of Columbia (1990) and in North Carolina (1992).

I have had some of my articles published online by Reuters, Fox News, and other media sites. Over the years I been interviewed by The National Law Journal, CBS Nightly News, The New York Times, and Forbes, as well as by other journalists working in print and on TV.

I did my undergraduate work at the College of William & Mary, in Williamsburg, Virginia.

I went to law school at George Washington University, in Washington, D.C.

If I can be of any assistance to you, feel free to contact me by email at or call me on our toll-free number, 800-426-9535.

Thanks for reading, and have a good day.
