Having an electronic project 2000 miles away is quite the stress I had not anticipated. The Emily-Tracker is doing its thing, tweeting her location from across the country.
First off if you don't know, I am tracking a young lady riding her bicycle across the country. It's not as creepy as it sounds, read more here → Emily Tracker.  Well this mess of Arduino, GPS, FONA logger madness has been up and running for the last 3 days now. Emily, the cyclist, is doing great. She started in Pennsylvania and is heading out west to Oregon. It is amazing watching her progress which is updated hourly on Twitter and  ...

Cycling on all flat is pretty grueling, if nothing else. At least climbing hills I feel as if I've an excuse to slow down now, and again. Coasting part of the time is a nice break too. But riding on the flat, you pretty much feel obligated to, go, and go, and go.

It's funny because her name is actually Lilly-bug but somewhere along the way I started calling her princess fluffybutt and the name just stuck :D

A cyclist position tweeting project that I made using a FONA, GPS, SD card. The project is ultra-low power and designed to run for months tweeting position every couple of hours.

A quick project I threw together to demo an example of an RTOS. The RTOS is ChibiOS ported by Bill Greiman. The controller is a quick PD controller I quickly calculated based on my mathematical model (no fine tuning)

Made a quick and really high capacity cellphone charger to keep my phone alive during Maker Faire this weekend!
As the Bay Area Maker Faire approaches I decided to avoid a problem most people there will face... the dead cellphone. With the cell phone now being a tool for photographing, blogging, note taking, etc, your phone will almost certainly begin complaining about its diminishing battery life within the first few hours of Maker Faire (trust me.) The options were to buy one of those cheap chargers that have roughly a 2 Amp-hour capacity (a...

This is Bagel, he seems to get found in all kinds of weird places. Today, a drawer with comfy pajamas. Such a silly guy.

Not silly... brilliant... up high so good spot to survey the domain, laying on your clothes so it smells like home and provider, small, cozy, and only one access point so it is easily defensible...

I had AC system work done here. Very fast and professional. The pricing was in line with industry standard. Added bonus the bathroom was incredibly clean (it's the little things sometimes.)

I wish I had come here sooner! Super discounted prices ...where else can you buy goldfish by the pound?!

Where do I even begin, not only will you find incredibly nice people here but their prices are excellent and their customer service is top notch! I was doing a large job, radiator, timing belt and water pump. Due to an unforeseen problem (with my car not their parts) I got stuck... badly. Rallysport Direct went out of their way to get me going and helped me where they really had no obligation to. Well done Rallysport! This is a business I will frequent again... and again!

Not sure about those who reviewed Aggie Station before me but the place is clean, the cooks are great and the burritos are freaking awesome! Yes it's a gas station that sells burritos but people don't stop here for the gas. A little odd but very good.

The store I didn't know Logan needed but I'm glad we got. Super friendly staff, great inventory and they don't have the usual "natural food store pricing!"

I love this little place! Super friendly and the food is amazing. It does get a bit busy but the prices are great and the portions are plentiful.

Ate here with my wife and we were pleasantly surprised! The food was great, fast and very inexpensive! Great deals everyday so it is definitely college student friendly. The total cost of our meals was just under 11 USD.
