For Director Comey was IT integrity or hubris?
Mr. Comey fulfilled his responsibility with integrity in agreeing with the unanimous decision of his staff that it would be wrong to criminally prosecute Mrs. Clinton. Had he announced that decision he could have felt confident that his integrity was upheld. He did not stop there, he felt the need to prove his integrity and thus proceeded to “prosecute” Mrs. Clinton in the eyes of the public, without opportunity to rebut. It was not necessary or appropriate to present his view of the evidence and his opinions. He did so not to prove his integrity (the decision did that) but to protect his image. In doing so he politicized his role, handing his fellow republicans ammunition to attack the Democratic Candidate. He abused his position going beyond what he was charged to do, reach a decision on criminal prosecution and in essence became a hack for the Republican party. This may not have been his intention, but in the rush to protect his image he surrendered that which he so values…his integrity. I think he is an honorable man, so to was Brutus. . . even honorable men fall victim to hubris!
