#TheViewUpHere welcomes back Polly Ticks to discuss three issues on her mind. Budget, Bud & The Bastards.
Budget - The Trudeau Liberal government's first Federal badget came down yesterday with a forecasted deficit of nearly $30 billion. Finance Minister and Bay Street darling Bill Morneau seems to have said a lot of right things, allocated money to a lot of right things and the reviews are generally good. Some of the core election promises are addressed. But many are not, details are vague, and the discussion is fully underway. We will give our perspective.
Bud - What happened to the supposed priority issue of legalizing marijuana? Did someone bogart a spliff and forget to mention it? Former Toronto Chief of Police and G20 Kommandant Bill Blair is the Parliamentary Secretary to the Justice Minister given this issue to deal with. Hardly comforting to the 420 crowd. Many unknowns lie ahead, from international treaties, to amnesty for past convictions, to revenues from future sales. Gnarly, dude.
The Bastards - Are there pictures of the MP for Calgary-Heritage on milk cartons yet? Is there a Canadian riding in Florida? The absence of Emperor on our screens is a welcome development, but why is he being paid? The files are barely being pried open and the cavalcade of CPC wrongdoing is rising daily. How many will be held to account? Will Dean Del Mastro be getting company? We can hope.

Join us tonight, Wednesday March 23 at 9 pm EDT

#TheViewUpHere goes global tonight, Wednesday March 16 at 9 pm EDT in support of #OpSerenaShim. It has been seventeen months since the very suspicious death of the American citizen working in Turkey as a journalist. Serena had concrete proof of Turkish assistance to ISIL fighters crossing into Syria in World Food Organization trucks, in flagrant violation of any and all agreements. Anonymous is not letting up for answers from the Erdogan regime on what happened to Serena. We will be joined by three activists at different locations and levels of involvement to discuss the operation to force the truth out of the Turkish military, government, the US Department of State, NATO and the silent international corporate press.

Guest Pam Palmater Talk C-51 and Who the Real Terrorists Are?

Bill C-51 The Anti-Terrorism Act of 2015, as it is called by the Harper government, has generated more discussion, protest, trepidation, calls for abandonment and well founded fear than any other piece of legislation from Emperor's regime. The threats to rights and freedoms of all Canadians are real and visible. Respected voices such as Micheal Geist, Craig Forcese, Kent Roach, Elizabeth May and others have sounded the alarm. But the threats to indigenous peoples are far more pronounced and close to reality than any others. First Nations have upheld their end of Treaties with the Crown in memoriam while successive settler governments have neglected, ignored and subverted them.

Pam Palmater is a Mi'kmaw leader and member of the Eel River Bar First Nation. She has worked for the federal Ministries of Justice and Aboriginal & Northern Affairs. She has been a candidate for National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations. She is a lawyer, professor and chair of the Indigenous Governance program at Ryerson University. Pam has been a vocal supporter of Idle No More and numerous programs to involve and engage settlers and aboriginals alike to create the environment for the nation to nation equal allies that the Treaties promise. But the Harper government continues to move further and further away from that possibility.

The View Up Here has spent a long time trying to fit into Pam's busy schedule and are very honoured to have her guest on the show and explain how First Nations are the potential primary targets of C-51. It has been said many times on this show that the only people left in Canada with any say on their air, water and land are First Nations. Now Emperor seeks to use false fear to try and steal these constitutionally guaranteed rights from the first people to inhabit these lands.

Join us and find why settlers should support First Nations peoples to defend us all.

The View Up Here and @Subscatter Discuss Missing The Point

How many problems do you see when you look at society around you? Does the society you are being sold exist in reality? Or is it a disconnected dream towards the so-called "Perfect World". Are the prizes in this dream even accessible or do they fall into the "some day" category. No matter what dreams you may strive to, the same system can also sell you a tailored list of why those dreams are under threat.

So much airtime, bandwidth, column space, billboards and snail mail devoted to telling you exactly what the problems are. Regardless of your personal beliefs or convictions. There is plenty to go around, by design. Compartmentalization is a modern art form, keeping polar opposites locked in battle over.... nothing. The names change in the current edition of the same old wedge issue, but the rhetoric never does. And it takes its course. And nothing changes.

For all the connectivity speed of light global reach that happens, why do the same problems never go away? And why are the bigger systemic institutional problems hardly ever mentioned? Maybe it's because you are surrounded by Distraction Central.

Join @Subscatter and your host for discussion on the distraction industry. Already in a town near you.

The View Up Here with a Fistful of Nothing

Well, sometimes plans work out, sometimes they don't. About three hours before showtime, my guest Andrew Abbass had to postpone. So, this is what you get then. To be honest, there is about an hour of current, topical Canadian political issues. The Notley cabinet in Alberta, the Dropbox nudes account in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia at the Junior/Senior High school, the ten revoked passports in Montreal, the first leaks of the Senate audits, and a personal rant against well-known hyperpartisan defender of the status quo Warren Kinsella.

The rest of the show is a major improvisation event, with help from @Shin_Duo and @V_Kershaw as we bounce around topics Canadian and American in nature.

The View Up Here Commits to Know Thine Enemy, Canada, Know Thine Enemy

October 19, 2015. It is approaching fast as the usual bluster emanates from Ottawa. The pillar of status quo and conformity, the corporate media, continues to sensationalize and distract from the things that truly matter regarding the future and stability of Canada. An exhausted Elizabeth May tries to be someone she is not, utters the F-bomb twice in nine minutes, and this is suddenly the moral dilemma of the nation. Not election fraud. Not insiders awaitng trial, on trial, or under criminal investigation. Not $3.1 billion that went "unaccounted for". Not policy that benefits the top 20% or less of the population. Not the walls of secrecy or threats of retribution for speaking the truth. Not the obscenity that is omnibus legislation that changes acts of Parliament without relevance, debate or scrutiny.

Canada is blessed with many intrepid investigators and reporters that seek the truth. But once they find that truth, the real hard part begins. Beancounters and message controllers masquerading as editors and producers have an agenda that differs from those that seek to inform and expose. Corporations keep the advertising revenues flowing as long as the message suits their aims. The false rallying cry from the establishment of the "Leftist Media" continues as the government of Emperor carries on with seeming impunity. Canadians need to awaken to see a different F-bomb in their midst. Government and corporations. It is Fascism.

There are lessons to be learned from the Alberta election. The opposition parties keyed on their common enemy, not each other. The lies and incompetence were exposed. The voters were left to choose their replacement freely. It is time the federal parties did the same for the benefit of Canadians. It's not like there is no evidence to condemn Emperor and the Corporate Pacification Committee. Let's attack the enemy, not each other. For Canada.

The View Up Here & Graham Chivers Talk Science, the New Frontier, Failure and Harper

Science has been called a boring subject with deep topics. Certainly too deep for the propagandists out of the PMO. Applied sciences will serve the CPC agenda, or they will be ignored. Canada has a long, storied history in scientific development, be it for institutional, research or commercial purposes. Humanity is at the beginning of another scientific revolution. Our mathematics and super-computing is enabling and verifying our very nature.

The language of science, the processes of science, the risk/reward of new discoveries and the ethics of them are all complex areas that defy simple, catchy explanation. Investment, data, experimentation, application and free exchange of findings are all critical pieces of the puzzle. Yet the Harper government has shown little regard for this field in which Canada has historically punched above its weight. Climate change, green energy, medicine, computing, space exploration - science seeks to increase the safety of our existence by tackling these issues and many more.

For the past 25 years, Graham has worked in Canada and USA, in manufacturing, as a special machine designer. If you can buy it, he can make it, or make 1000 per second, all it takes is time and money. Graham was trained on the same design software as NASA used for its space stuff, and five others since. His first design workstation cost $250,000, almost like having a tiny physics universe to play on. Being an expert at applying new technology to answer challenges, he has special insights into advanced controls systems, exotic manufacturing process, lean manufacturing, executive expertise, project management experience, technical communication and eliminating your competition. Starting with a smart design can accomplish more than any single step in business can deliver. Remember, your customer is running the show, so do your due diligence, kick back and make some money and help the planet.
