Mr. Tabletop Cook built us a store! Our first sale was one of our personal favorite appliances, this Swissmar raclette grill. We have the red one with the granite top AND an extra cast-iron top. We've used our grills to make traditional raclette dinners, Japanese teppanyaki, Japanese okonomiyaki, Indian dosas, French crepes, mini pizzas, and fajitas. They're super useful and everyone always has fun tabletop cooking on a raclette grill when we have dinner parties. http://amzn.to/1BvIPKy

This Tom Yum Hot Pot is one of our new favorite recipes. It was salty, sour, and spicy enough to stand on its own without any dipping sauce, and make a delicious soup in the end. We doctored up the tom yum paste with some dry galangal, dry kaffir lime leaves, dry lemon grass, and of course, a generous splash of fish sauce. We'll be making a lot more hot pot with interesting and unique broths in the weeks to come. Make sure you remember to like this post or the page to show your support!  Recipe and instructions here: http://www.thetabletopcook.com/tom-yum-hot-pot.html

To be honest, I'm not even sure we're missing out by not having easy access to tiny, time-consuming pizzas conjured up with powders and potions. And yet, I couldn't tear my eyes away for the full five minutes plus. http://youtu.be/R06wOny6Uk8

"We should all be eating crickets by now." Are you ready? I think it's a good idea, but I ate a cricket once, and it tasted like fish food. I don't know if I'm mentally ready for a bowl of them. But it seems like some of us are already eating more crickets than farmers can raise! http://chicagoist.com/2014/10/07/we_need_more_cricket_farmers_the_pr.php

It's not always easy to find a lot of our favorite familiar spice blends here in Taiwan, but it isn't too hard to find the spices we need to make our own DIY blends. Here's a list with some great resources on it. http://dailysavings.allyou.com/2015/02/12/diy-spice-mixes/
