I've been slow to share over here, but I'm giving away a bunch of cool, new #STEM items that make great holiday gifts for tween on up through adults. And, in the case of +Sphero, dogs, too. Here's a look at Circuit Stickers, which I'm giving away as well.

Huh. So This happened. Off to read the full story.
Rosetta scientist Dr. Matt Taylor stepped up and apologized for wearing an offensive shirt during Wednesday's livestream of the Philae landing. I sincerely hope that the +European Space Agency, ESA recognizes its own culpability in the unfortunate situation.

Casual sexism exists in workplaces because management allows it to exist, and in some cases, perpetuates it. Dr. Taylor appeared in a public forum AS AN ESA REPRESENTATIVE wearing a shirt decorated with scantily clad women. ESA must be held responsible, must acknowledge the role they played in building a work environment in which NOT ONE PERSON thought to question the appropriateness of Dr. Taylor's appearance before he stepped in front of the cameras, and advise him accordingly.

Make has an interesting piece on this project that revives a teletype (or teleprinter), an old-school communication device that was used to send and receive typed messages over various communication channels. It’s kind of like the early predecessor to fax machines.
