103 years ago today RMS Titanic embarked on her maiden voyage from Southampton to New York.

At the time, she was viewed as one of the most luxurious liners in the world, rivalling Cunard's Lusitania and Mauretania, whilst many believed she was unsinkable.

Unfortunately, RMS Titanic never completed her journey, as she collided with an iceberg on 14th April, 1912, 400 nautical miles from Newfoundland, Canada.

Only 705 people survived the maritime disaster, whilst over 1,500 passengers and crew lost their lives that fateful night.
