I was recently a guest here and I experience the worst hotel stay in my life. My check out time was at noon. At 9am, the housekeeping manager, Maggie, knocks on my door despite a "Do Not Disturb" door tag. I informed her that I was still in the room. About 20 minutes later, she comes back, and I crack open the door (half naked given the fact that that I was asleep with my significant other). She then proceeds come into my room to look for a "phone charger" that a guest supposedly left prior to my reservation (which is peculiar in and of itself). She then proceeds to question me about my actual charger. Little to her knowledge, I just sat for the bar and am well aware that her actions clearly constitute an intrusion of solitude and seclusion. I simply inform her that she was violating my right to privacy, that she should leave and that I would speak to her manager. I went downstairs to see the hotel manager, Michael T, and he was supposedly in an off-site meeting. I called the booking company and informed them of the incident, and they made several efforts to contact Michael T. When I checked out and arrived home, I called again, and he had taken off for the day. Given the several messages that were left regarding the matter, he actively chose to not address my concern. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone, given the poor management alone, and there seems to be other reviews from other customers in which this has happened.

Good hotel in a convenient location at a reasonable price. The toiletries are Neutrogena which was a nice surprise.

Overall decent experience, booked through priceline. $40 per night for valet parking, we got a king size bed the room was like sleeping in a closet. Doors had cracked and chipped paint for a 3.5 star it was horrible true rating would be a 2star no continental breakfast and wifi 9.95/night really? Even super 8 has free wifi.

The walking distance to the White House and proximity to good restaurants made this a perfectly located hotel with the quaint and historic charm my family was looking for. The staff was attentive and friendly, helping us with everything from operating the TV in our room to locating the nearest trolley and bus stops. Housekeeping did those little things only a woman can appreciate on vacation, they took the time to organize the small belongings left strewn in our haste to see as much of DC as possible. Now, for the BEST PART, my forgetful mother had left her Kindle in a dresser drawer; housekeeping found and mailed it to her!

Great hotel. The staff is extraordinarily professional and personable. I was in D.C. for a work conference and my company booked rooms for us in this hotel. My room was immaculate and comfortable, which really helped me decompress after working all day. The decoration and vibe of the over all hotel (lobby/hallways/etc.) is a bit querky, but I can't even say it was off putting. The one thing I would mention is that the bathrooms are very tight. It wasn't a huge problem in the least, but it may be an issue for someone else. Kudos to this place. The staff, the housekeeping, maintenance. I would hope to stay here every time I'm in D.C.

The hallways smells like mildew and someone was smoking marijuana in the hallway at night. We did not feel safe. Lastly, our room was assigned to someone else while we were still in it. On two occasions someone tried to open the room door and we weren't scheduled to check out until the following day. Management did nothing more than apologize. The only things positive about this hotel is its history and location. We were very happy to check out and check in for our conference at the Washington Hilton across the street.
