This is an older property situated fairly close to downtown Chicago. When I walked into the lobby it seemed dated and has that "old hotel" smell. (I suggest they do something about that.) So I expected the same for my room on the 14th floor but was pleasantly surprised by an updated room and bath. The best part was the bed and pillows were excellent and I slept very well, which is the most important thing for me when I stay overnight on business trips. So I give the lobby/entry an "OK" and the room an "Excellent" so that averages out to a "Liked it".

Good location. Average rooms for the $. Would loved to have had a refrigerator in room Hallways/carpet were old and dingy. Gentleman that worked the day shift at check in lacked in helpfulness and friendliness skills. Evening shift, housekeeping bell staff, valet were AWESOME!

I've only been here for events but they are usually pretty good with renting the space and providing good service.

We had to travel to Chicago for an emergent situation and I was scared of "The Big City" and its people. That was not the case very shortly after arrival at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The first person that helped us carry in our items treated us as if we were family and he had loved us all our lives. The others within the hotel did much the same. Pedro, Sal, Tiffany, and John are some the most outstanding people I have ever met. There were three more bell hops when we left and I lost my paperwork with their names and I am deeply sorry because they rocked as well. Being from the south-Georgia-a totally different atmosphere as well as the television- placed the fear upon my soul yet, like I said it was short lived after being treated-me and my husband in the best manner possible. The hotel is very nice as well. I was sad when we left because we had been so kindly treated I felt as if we had made some valuable friendships. The building, the lovely people, as well as location and all of that is fantastic. I would not even think of staying anywhere else if a return stay is needed. They did not even make fun of my southern draw as the general public had. They all complimented us and we felt as if we were royalty. Crowne Plaza Hotel Chicago and its founders are very lucky to have such outstanding employees working for them. These traits are not found often even in the "Hospitality South." Thank you all for making my stay a great one and thank you for being genuine and kind. I hope to see you all again and it is all of you that make that hotel!!! Sincerely Grateful... I have told all my friends in Georgia that Chicago is not a bunch of gangsters shooting the streets up:) Sincerely, The Georgianian

Hotel is very average for the price and the rooms are nothing special. I personally spend a lot of time traveling and this hotel definitely did not make it on the top of my favorites. I called to get a room upgrade and was hung up on by the front desk few times which defiantly made me irritated. However I do have to mention that the valet staff was awesome and very helpful. Overall I wouldn’t recommend the hotel if you are actually planning to spend a lot of time in the room, it would be fine if you are there to sleep just for a night. - Also the bathroom doors slide and do not close all the way which was the first for me. Very odd

The location of the hotel is quite suitable to all and is well placed. Welll connected to buses, malls and grocery stores. Food isi quite good and i like it. only i miss is the varity in breakfast. Room service has a scope of improvement. Other than that, I would still recommend that as the staff is quite friendly and supportive.
