Will you be doing this at the same time next Friday? (Unfortunately, this announcement came a little too late for me to plan for today.)  Thanks.

RITUAL UPDATE FOR THIS EVENING!
You can watch a live stream on Periscope of proceedings! On site participating in the ritual will be members of the +Adhisthana  communities and a small group who are on a Complete Works working retreat. It will be led by Saddhanandi, Chair of Adhisthana.

To join the live stream, simply visit The Buddhist Centre’s Twitter page (below). When the event is about to begin, we’ll post the link there. Just click the link and you’ll have a choice to watch live in your browser, in your Twitter app or on Periscope. If you’re a Periscope user you’ll also be able to make comments on the stream as the event progresses!

Please keep in mind that this will be a bit of an experiment, so if there are some technical issues we appreciate your patience - but it’s a great chance to take part in the live event wherever you are in the world. And the video recording will be available for some time after the event as well if you miss it.

A great summary of a very full week's work and Dharma practice from Mokshini and Dassini as the great winter gathering of European Triratna Buddhists comes to an end. As well as the overview we also hear about a special and moving ritual for one member of the assembly choosing to go deeper with the practice of simplicity and contentment in her life... A beautiful way to mark the close of a deepening kind of meeting!

An exciting idea from the Triratna European Chairs meeting at Adhisthana. Mokshini talking to Ratnaghosha, the Chair of the Cambridge Buddhist Centre, on the theme of how best to celebrate our world-wide Triratna sangha. This would be both to promote unity across our sanghas as well help give those attending local Centres a sense of the internationality of our Movement which might not be obvious for those coming along.

In fact, over the course of the next 18 months there are several events and particular anniversaries that will be marked at Triratna Centres world-wide. There are significant anniversaries within the Indian sangha with Dr Ambedkar's 125th birthday coming up on 14 April 2016, as well as the 60th anniversary of the 1956 mass conversions to Buddhism in Nagpur. And in addition to these there are suggestions of making use of Triratna Day (marking the founding of our community) as an annual event to celebrate Triratna worldwide. Watch this space!

A wee report from day 3 of the 2016 Triratna European Chairs Assembly on Amalavajra's 'Money Awakening' workshop.

As Amalavajra points out, the Chair of a Triratna Buddhist Centre is likely to be one of the more influential people in their situation - so their views on money matter.

We look at the 8 money archetypes, and the effect of giving more and more from a position of genuine generosity as we move towards a 'gift' economy within Triratna - a more appropriate term, Amalavajra suggests, for the 'dana [generosity] economy'.

Recorded in January 2016 at Adhisthana in the UK.

At the end of the second full day at Adhisthana on the European Chairs Assembly, Mokshini and Dassini report in on a rich, full and delightful day spent in the company of Ratnaguna - an Order member who has just written a commentary on the Pure Land Sutras.

Ratnaguna shared some of his insights during the day on common themes between the Pure Land Sutras and Sangharakshita's teaching, which underpins Dharma practice in the Triratna Buddhist Community.

We also hear why this "meeting" shouldn't be seen as "business" but rather as the compassionate expression of the highest ideals!

This is an invitation to join us in spirit for a special ritual that will take place at Adhisthana on Tuesday January 12th at 1900 GMT. This ritual is to consecrate and dedicate a two-foot tall Manjusri rupa that will be especially associated with Urgyen Sangharakshita's Complete Works. (Eventually the rupa will sit on a shrine in the Library, there amongst the precious collection of Bhante's rupas, thangkas, and Dharma and other books at the heart of Adhisthana.) During the ritual, which will take place in the Library, various objects will be placed inside the rupa, after which the rupa will be sealed up.

Joining us in spirit, you may want to take time to practise the metta bhavana, especially wishing that Bhante’s teaching of the Dharma will prosper and benefit many, many people. You may like to chant the Manjusri mantra or the Manjusri invocation below.

Chetul (Chatral) Sangye Dorje, the great Tibetan Dzogchen Master who just passed away at the age of 102, was one of Urgyen Sangharakshita's eight main teachers. Here is Sangharakshita in 1990, paying tribute to him.

Chatral (Chetul) Sangye Dorje was born in 1913 and has just died at the turn of the year. Here is an excellent, at times very funny, introduction to him by Karunamati, who was fortunate enough to meet with him in Nepal as part of her medical work there with the Green Tara Trust.

At the time this talk was given the great Tibetan Master - one of Sangharakshita's eight main teachers - was 93 years old and not much in the public eye. We hear about his approach to the Dharma as well as his own background of training. We also learn about his attitudes to being a teacher and to disciples, and are treated to two very different accounts of a personal audience with him.

Talk recorded at a gathering of the Triratna Buddhist Order in 2007.
