BROWcast returns this week and gives a rough mix of of "Happiness Is A Warm Gun" that isolates certain overdubs that are not as clear in the official mono or stereo mix heard on the White Album. The organ is isolated for the first two sections, distorted electric guitar for the third section, hi-hat and tambourine for the fourth section, and piano for the final section. Presented this way you just might pick up on a few bits here and there that you've missed before. Please join me at the link above.

BROWcast: This week I'm featuring a nice performance of "I'm Happy Just To Dance With You" sung by George Harrison and performed by The Beatles on their BBC radio program From Us To You recorded on July 17th, 1964 to promote their new film A Hard Day's Night. Check it out at the link above.

This is the first (and last) #askNat to occur on New Year's Eve. In honor of such an occasion I take a look at the New Year's Eves from the sixties and what was going on in The Beatles' Universe on those days. Join me please at the link above.

BROW this week: It ended up on George Harrison's All Things Must Pass as "The Ballad Of Sir Frankie Crisp (Let It Roll)" but in an earlier form was "Everybody, Nobody." Check out the acoustic demo of this one at the link above.

BROWcast this week: Have a listen this week to a warm-up version of George Harrison's cover of the Bob Dylan - composed "I Don't Want To Do It." It was recorded in 1984 with the finalized version used the following year in the soundtrack to the comedy film Porky's Revenge. Join me at the link above and happy holidays!

Join me for BROWcast this week as we'll have a listen to George Harrison's bluesy b-side "For You Blue." This version is exclusive to the Let It Be film, now out-of print and causing this mix of the song to be outside of the realm of availability. It's all at the link above.

Because of the deficit of commercially accessible early live recordings by Paul McCartney & Wings, I have occasionally featured something to give us a taste of how they sounded back when they were playing the smaller shows and were still a new band. For the BROWcast this week I present “Soily,” an all out rocker that was first heard on record as the last song on the Wings Over America LP set or the b-side to the “Maybe I’m Amazed” single taken from this set. The version presented at the link above goes back a few years before that.

This week's BROWcast features a demo Paul McCartney recorded of his own composition "Goodbye" which he gave to the young Welsh folk singer Mary Hopkin to use as a single to follow up her debut single "Those Were The Days." Paul recorded the demo in December 1968 for Mary to use as a guide for her own recording which Paul produced and plays on. Have a listen at the link above.

http://www.thebeatlesrarity.com/2015/12/24/asknat-concerning-paul-mccartneys-christmas-album-from-1965/

For this week's #askNat I discuss a Christmas novelty album Paul McCartney recorded at home in 1965. Only 4 copies were ever pressed and one each was given to each of the other Beatles with Paul keeping one for himself. So how's that for a scarce collectible? I'll discuss some details about this record and include a listen to what just might be the way it started off at the link above. Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays! While this charity track has seen a few reissues and remakes since it's premier in 1984 to help with the famine in Ethiopia, the original and extended 12-inch single mix has been out of print for 30+ years. It's a good time to lift your spirits and have a listen to it now. You can do just that by joining me at the link above.

BROWcast: This home recording of “Indeed, I Do” was most likely taped sometime between the Ram album (May 1971) and the first Wings album, Wild Life (Dec. 1971). Paul duets with his wife Linda while strumming an acoustic guitar at the link above.
