http://www.thebeatlesrarity.com/2015/04/27/beatles-rarity-of-the-week-hope-for-the-future-sweet-thrash-mix/

The BROW this week has me responding to all of the recent hype about Paul McCartney's recent "secret Record Store Day release." With a special white labelled vinyl single presumably limited to only 100 copies, Paul has successfully broken the mold on how to handle RSD exclusives by instructing store personnel to hide this little gem in with the regular stock to be found at random. The ultra-scarce disc contains 2 exclusive mixes of "Hope For The Future" and since it is now so hard to get a hold of, I've decided to share one of these with you along with some other info about Beatles-related RSD exclusives over the last 8 years. You can join me for all of this at the link above.

http://www.thebeatlesrarity.com/2015/04/20/beatles-rarity-of-the-week-we-can-work-it-out-take-1/

For the BROW this week I'm going into a little info about October 20th, 1965 when The Beatles began to record their classic hit single "We Can Work It Out." The song went on to share the A-side honors with "Day Tripper" and then top the charts over the Christmas season in the U.K. and shortly afterwards (i.e. January '66) in the U.S. After a few words about the session, I'll be sharing the very first take with you. All you have to do is join me at the link above.

For BROWcast this week I nab a track that came exclusively off of George Harrison's rare CD single that came packaged with his (also very rare) book Songs By George Harrison. Recorded in 1978, the track is called "Flying Hour." Have yourself a listen at the link above.

For this week's ‪#‎askNat‬ I have a question from someone who wants to know about lost or misplaced studio recordings by The Beatles. Is everything they've ever recorded accounted for today? Has there ever been any accidental destruction of studio tapes? I give this my best answer at the link above.

http://www.thebeatlesrarity.com/2015/04/06/beatles-rarity-of-the-week-winedark-open-sea-reworked-demo/

For this week's BROW I discuss a little about how Paul McCartney is often known to experiment with different approaches to his music. Take for instance his eighties hit "No More Lonely Nights." There's the ballad version as well as a couple "playout versions" more suitable for dancing. This week's BROW gives a much lesser known alternate approach to a song of his from the Off The Ground album (1993) called "Winedark Open Sea." I invite you to have a listen and join in on the discussion at the link above.

http://www.thebeatlesrarity.com/2015/04/23/asknat-concerning-john-lennons-copyright-infringement-lawsuit-over-come-together/

For ‪#‎askNat‬ this week a reader has asked about the copyright infringement lawsuit over The Beatles' hit "Come Together" and it's similarity to Chuck Berry's "You Can't Catch Me." After reading that John Lennon was sued over this, he wonders how Paul McCartney was left off the hook as, despite the fact that John was the true composer, it is credited to Lennon-McCartney. I answer the question by sorting through the complicated story piece by piece. If you want to learn more, or simply find out who this guy is pictured with John, join me at the link above.

This week on the BROWcast I have a nice Paul McCartney performance in Washington DC's RFK Stadium of "My Brave Face" that goes way back to 1990. Have a listen at the link above.

http://www.thebeatlesrarity.com/2015/04/16/asknat-concerning-the-german-translations-of-i-want-to-hold-your-hand-and-she-loves-you/

For ‪#‎askNat‬ this week someone has heard on a BBC documentary that the German translated versions of "I Want To Hold Your Hand" and "She Loves You" by The Beatles have lyrics that don't necessarily match up to what they sing in English. At least not exactly. Are they really different and if so, how different? I give a little background about the purpose and recording of these cultural-bridging specialties before exploring the translations in a comparison that is sure to get to the bottom of the question properly. You'll see what I mean by joining me at the link above.

For this week's BROW George Harrison is in the spotlight as I dig up an acoustic demo he played for Phil Spector, his chosen producer, as a possible contender for his yet-to-be-recorded All Things Must Pass 3-LP set. This is one that ended up getting away as George never got around to finishing it up once the actual sessions for the project got underway over the course of the next five months. The song is called "Tell Me What's The Matter With You" and you can hear how far George did get with it at the link above.

This week's BROWcast feature's John Lennon during the sessions for the Plastic Ono Band album in late 1970. Joined by Ringo Starr on drums and his old friend from Hamburg, Klaus Voormann on bass, John plays piano and sings "Remember" though the explosive 5th of November ending has not yet been established. Not sure how he's going to end it yet, John simply plays it through a second time before it finally breaks down. Check it out at the link above.

For ‪#‎askNat‬ this week someone who has recently caught Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band in concert wants to know why Ringo has someone helping him with the drums. It's understandable, he says, when Ringo needs to go up front and sing, but what about when he is on his own drum kit? Check out my response at the link above.
