#FunFact - Historically different regions have been identified with different styles of Jazz. For example, Chicago and New Orleans Jazz dates from the early 1910s, Kansas City Jazz, Gypsy Jazz, and big band style swing from the 1930s and 1940s, and more recently bebop, Afro-Cuban Jazz, Brazilian Jazz, Jazz-Rock Fusion, and even Acid Jazz.

What's your favorite style of Jazz?

#ShadyLady History - Established in April of 2009 by Jason Boggs, Alex Origoni and Garrett Van Vleck, the three long time friends and restaurant employees wanted to open a bar that was unique in #Sacramento. Combining a love of food, craft cocktails and music, the Shady Lady Saloon was created. http://goo.gl/yEbiPr

Menu
Drawing largely from the past for inspiration, the Shady Lady features a large variety of both classic cocktails and new craft creations. We use only the freshest ingredients and highest quality products to create the best cocktails we can. In addition to our cocktails, we carry a wide liquor selection that features both customer favorites as well as many unique and rare offerings.

Like our cocktails, the food at The Shady Lady Saloon draws from the past and adds a modern twist. We feature a menu consisting of many American classics and Southern inspired dishes made with fresh, local ingredients. Fried Green Tomatoes, Fried Chicken & Collard Greens and the Shrimp Po’Boy are just a few standouts. We also have an excellent selection of salads, sandwiches, small plates and entrees.

Acceptable food. The "large plate" of mussels was half the size of the steak salad, for some reason, at a higher price (even though right now mussels and decent steak are pretty much the same price). The broth for the mussels was pure salt - had to drink lots of water to get it down. 3 tiny (!!) morsels of bread come with this dish, so i guess they don't expect you to soak up the broth with it, as is customary with mussels ... Service was fine. Instead of splitting our bill across 2 credit cards, they charged the same card twice, and then when we said all the receipts were for the same card, the waitress said, slightly aggressively, "no, let me show you, the numbers are different..." but then she saw they weren't, and went back to charge the other card. I hope this means she didn't charge one of the cards twice AND the other card once. We'll see. Nice room, though, and pleasantly cool.

I had a friend spend eighty dollars on drinks and 115am and literally at 120am the establishment very aggressively said finish drinks and get out. I asked for a refund and was literally physically thrown out. I measured my blood alcohol level as soon as I was outside. I blew a .06 so I know I was being reasonable.

Loved this place. It has a really cool burlesque ish kind of vibe. The food was phenomenal. I had the bacon wrapped meatloaf and it was just about the most expensive dish at $14. Drinks were reasonable too. My dinner was delicious BTW.

Fun place to hang out. Four of us had a quiet Monday lunch. Server was friendly and attentive. One friend had a Wedge Salad- She said it was very good. it looked very good. My wife had the Southern Fried Chicken, not special... Batter crisp but not flavorful, deep fried Mac and cheese didn't make it. Greens way too bitter. My friend and I had the pastrami Reuben. Super greasy and made with crispy over done, grilled pastrami. Who grills pastrami till its like a bacon before it goes in?.... His side Caesar Salad was very good. My side salad (vinegarette) was OK... Such nice people, but three out of four lunches did not make it...

Had an amazing time. Went with clients and colleagues and it was a unique experience. The live band was fantastic. Bartenders have a great attitude and know how to pour a drink. I'll try to go at least once when I visit Sacramento.

"Is this Caipirinha furrealz?" I went to the Shady Lady to meet up with some colleagues last Thursday night and really loved the décor of this place... Cons- the Caipirinha could have had more Cachaca and sugar. It tasted like ice, water and lime juice coupled with being the size of a shot glass for 9 bucks. Pros- The green tomatoes were great. I may try the happy hour in the future.
