My husband and I stayed 4 nights. We would try to find another place to stay before returning. John is loud spoken, boisterous, and likes being the center of attention, but Tina is generous and friendly. They have a large dog, but he is friendly and minds well. The breakfast is good, but not as varied as most B&Bs. There was a small wedding and the exterior was very impressive. Parking was easy. We booked the Olin room but had to change due to a water leak in the ceiling. I could not find John to tell him, so I found Tina in the kitchen. She was quick to bring towels and check on us before getting back to breakfast and told us John would follow up and find a new room. We waited but John never showed up. We found him in the office and reminded him. His response was, “Oh, you’re the people”. We were moved to the Milleneous room which is much quieter than Olin (Olin is at the top of the stairs over the entry). Both rooms are much darker than the webstie pictures suggest, particularly the Milleneous room (very little light comes in through the window and the only supplemental lighting is from 3 table lamps). The mattresses were soft, unsupportive, and felt old, although the Milleneous was slightly better. I inquired about this before we booked our stay, and John assured me the mattresses were firm. Other than the darkness, mattress, and stained carpet, the Milleneous room was otherwise nice, and quiet at night. Another miscommunication was with the public spaces. John said games were available in the dining room and the entertainment room had a sofa and TV. The first evening we went to the dining room to find John having some kind of private, catered party going on. It felt very awkward and John addressed us like we were intruding. We tried the entertainment room, but it smelled musty and chairs were stacked so that we could barely step in. We thought it might be temporary due to the wedding earlier, but it was the same the day we checked out.

A fun story. I booked a stay at the Blackwell Hotel in Coeur d'Alene, but didn't remember the name by the time I arrived. The booking staff at the Roosevelt had left for the night (I arrived after six) and in a panic, I called the emergency number to get entrance to the B&B (remember, I hadn't booked it). The wait staff immediately apologized to me (someone not staying at their B&B) for no one being at the door AFTER hours and got someone to open the door to let me in. Mistake corrected, they didn't make me feel immensely silly for contacting the wrong hotel, and the owner was incredibly polite about MY mistake. What impressed me was to have the B&B staff be so professional after their office hours! In the future I will make sure to stay here since their customer service to a "non" customer was so professional!

Did not like barking dog or the half drank bottle of booze left in the room by the previous people. Bathroom sink dripped all night and the host in the morning was very rude to all the customers making comments to what they had eating in a negative way oh ya and the bread put out for making toast was moldy. My wife and I were very dissapointed

Best stay. Wonderful rooms with very comfortable beds. All rooms are uniquely decorated. The B&B is in easy walking distance of restaurants and the lake. Greeted with bread pudding at check in. Chocolates with the bed turn down. Wonderful to order breakfast. Off street parking.

My wife and I stayed at the Roosevelt on our trip out West. The Coeur d'Alene area is amazingly beautiful, especially in the fall time. The hotel is located on a quaint street with ample parking and within walking distance of the waterfront shops. The staff are super-friendly and the hotel has a lot of charm. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms, which was cutely decorated. Breakfast was exceptional and everything was homemade. We'll definitely be back!

Quaint, historical, quiet hotel just a two minute walk from all the shops and (great) restaurants along the lake. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. We had everything we needed and then some. They took great care of our dog as well. Nice hot tub!
