Kes, TheRingKitty, wearing a Seventh Son greave! TRL made 20 full suits of hybrid polycarbonate/chain armor for the movie Seventh Son! We made punched 16g 3/8" stainless connected with 16g 5/16" aluminum chain. The armor was made using overlapping shaped and laser engraved polycarbonate plates to make a double row on the chest and cover the arm from shoulder to elbow. We also made shaped greaves from laser engraved polycarb - they are made from 3 plates connected with thin strips of chainmail that cover the shin and calf.
We know that the movie costuming staff were intending on painting these so they will not be clear as shown. If anyone finds a good pic of these suits from the film please message us!
Movie companies always have tight tight deadlines and making them  usually means that taking good pics of the final product before shipping doesn't happen. But hey, I always say one of the benefits of making armor for movies is getting a picture of your cat wearing it!

I see a lot of product and it take a lot to drop my jaw is awe when I see something new. Usually Jon gets a "that's nice dear" when he shows me new stuff. When Jon showed me his latest Damascus Etched Scales my jaw most certainly dropped - they are amazingly gorgeous! The nicest scales I've ever seen.
I couldn't wait to get them in my light tent and post a pic so you could see too. I'm so excited by them I'm posting before they are ready to sell - I must show the world. These pics are the anodized aluminum spectrum and the titanium spectrum with this pattern. We always make a few scale in each color so we can see which ones work for putting on the site. The titanium show etched, etched and anodized and double etched / double anodized scales.
Enjoy drooling - try to miss your keyboard.

My favorite pliers are back in stock! Tronex 745 plier are a custom made plier - designed by us for maillers and available exclusively through us. We tweaked the first design for a stronger joint and tip. They are the ultimate plier for all sizes of aluminum and almost all sizes of all other metals. These pliers were made for us by Tronex in the USA, using the same principles as the modified pliers - longer handles and shorter nose. This significantly reduces hand strain and makes weaving for hours easy and pleasant.
Enjoy! http://bit.ly/ifYpyo

Its been 3 years since TheRingLord and MailleTec worked on Seventh Son costumes! Today I'm going to share what MailleTec.com did using our scales and their blackened stainless mesh. Check out the full length flame colored scale dress on the linked to page - it didn't make it into the movie but its amazing. I'm still grumpy I didn't get to try it on - turns out Julianne Moore is my measurements almost exactly (pouty face). Tomorrow I'll share what we made so you can spot the projects if you go see the movie this weekend.
MailleTec is very excited to see some of our work on the big screen again! We've been waiting a long time for Seventh Son to be released and we can't wait to go see it. We did a number of pieces for this project – Julianne Moore wears our scale maille (using The Ring Lord scales) in one of her ...

Viscount Sir Gunther Rorikson stepped up as Prince of Avacal (SCA) this past weekend wearing a tunic of our gold brushed anodized aluminum shield scales. The 1,210 scales were hand stitched onto heavy cotton with waxed linen thread by Viscountess Eyoddi Lokadottir, m.k.a.  Joanna Steadman. She had some help from Vladimir Korsak Guntherson m.k.a. Ian Mielke, and Viscount Sir Gunther Rorikson m.k.a. Damon Steadman. The tunic was backed with lightweight cotton/ poly and edged in red leather with brass quick-rivets. Photo credit and thanks to Beothuk m.k.a. Ian Racine
(for those not in the SCA m.k.a is mundanely known as - there is your trivia for the day.)
You can find these scales on our site here http://bit.ly/YRLp6M as well as free instructions for their use.
