One customer review stated that we make 'the best onion rings ever.' Maybe it's big-headed but... we agree. ;)

Never fails to disappoint - especially on a beautiful day like today! Burgers highly recommended, as are the staff. A must-visit.

This is not an old crown... it is a public house. We watched the Eurovision song contest here and it was a brilliant atmosphere. Bunch of europeans sat in a bar having a good laugh at each other's countries expense... utter brilliance! I think the beer and wine were good at the time... they were not good the morning after...

This place used to be one of the best pubs in London and was my go-to at almost any time of day. You could go in until 4 am on weekends and be greeted by friendly staff and meet awesome people. They used to hire a lot of temporary bar staff from the local U of C residences which gave it a good-times international feel (a bit like a classier hostel bar) and had a boss weekend manager with silver hair and a California tattoo on his arm. Friendliest laid back guy (although I forgot his name). In the past year and a bit while I was away apparently that manager has been pushed out and the place has gone downhill. The posh burgers are fine, but now there's a bear on the door on weekends who won't let you in without the right ratio in your group. It's no longer a public house at all, it's a venue for wankers with too many pretensions.

Greg, thanks for the feedback. Our team has changed since you left the review, and we'd like to think we've got our good-times vibe back. Can we tempt you back to check things out?

Decent enough venue, particularly great in summer when the sides open up on to the street. The food is very meat-heavy though, and they serve a falafel burger instead of a veggie burger (falafel is a different type of meal to a burger so doesn't work so well in context) and very little other choice, so only three stars from me. The sides are all absolutely smothered in batter and generally over seasoned. Bit pricey too.

Really enjoyed my experience here! The staff were amazingly friendly, and the food was equally great. In fact I would go as far as saying my Pulled Pork burger was the best I'd eaten! My partner in crime also loved his Hell Hound Posh Dog! The sides were great and the beer was the perfect temperature for this hot weather.

Do NOT go here... I had read the reviews of the Old Crown House and decided that the poor service comments were one-offs or disgruntled customers and that it couldn't be that bad. I was very sorely mistaken. I made a reservation yesterday which apparently was not recorded and not honored at the pub. That happens from time to time and usually not an issue. However, here we tried to clarify with the bar staff and they were so incompetent and incoherent that they could not, or would not, engage us in a discussion to sort out a table (which shouldn't have been a problem as there were ones available). In addition, they were uncomfortably aggressive towards us trying to find an alternative table, which ended in us being called liars and being refused to be served. The management would not engage with us meaningfully/constructively even trying to understand their issue and we were not served thereafter. I am a professional in my work life and have never come across such (i) incompetence, (ii) rudeness and (iii) utter lack of integrity by an establishment. I am a person of color and I left wondering if there was more to the episode as it was nearly otherwise inexplicable. If you have money to spend in London, please do enjoy yourself and your evening at another establishment. There are too many wonderful and enjoyable places in London than to waste time here.

Trave, thanks for your review. We would like to take this opportunity to apologise for the service you receiving during your visit to us. We aim to provide each of our customers with the very best service and high quality of food and beverages and it looks like on this occasion, something went awry. If we had the opportunity to serve you once again, we would be confident that you would enjoy the experience. With thanks, The Old Crown Public House.

This is such a great pub! It's not particularly big but somehow every time I've been I find somewhere to sit or at least to be comfortable. There is great space to use privately upstairs and I have recently had a film screening in the upstairs gallery room. The decor is interesting, cool, but comfortable making you feel at home. The bar staff will make any cocktail you want and are always up for a chitty-chat - awesome place.

Amazing hot dogs and onion rings as big as doughnuts! Last time I was in there learned a bit of Swedish while in the bathroom too.
