When you’re still at school, the summer break seems impossibly long – how will you ever fill all of that time? It’s both exciting and a little bit daunting.

However, when you’re a parent, you know that six weeks can fly by in the blink of an eye – so perhaps it’s not as surprising to you that we’ve almost made it to the end of the holidays.

If you’re looking to make the most out of those last few long days, then here’s what’s going on in Christchurch and the surrounding area so that you can make the time special.

One of our favourite things about Christchurch is that there doesn’t really need to be a set event happening for a trip here to be worthwhile – there are so many outdoor activities available and fabulous walks to go on that your itinerary can easily fill up before you even so much as glance at a ‘what’s on’ guide.

However, that isn’t to say that there aren’t things going on over the summer months in Christchurch! They’re simply an added bonus. If you can tear yourself away from the coastal path, then here’s what else you could be getting up to in Christchurch and Bournemouth over the summer.

When you’re planning when to hold your wedding, it’s quite likely that you’re considering either a Saturday or a Sunday. That’s understandable, as it’s been the norm to have a weekend wedding for years and years – you might not even know there are other options available to you!

However, the number of people getting married on a Thursday is on the rise. Although it might not be a day you’ve considered yet, here’s why we think a Thursday wedding is just as viable an option as one on a Saturday.

The Kings Arms features in The Telegraph's article on The Rise of Thursday Weddings!

Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Romsey who got married with us last week and featured in the article.

We have noticed a significant increase in Thursday weddings, so much so that we have introduced an exclusive Thursday package at The Kings Arms. Not only are you more likely to secure your dream venue on a Thursday, rather than on a popular weekend, you will also benefit from a more affordable option for you and your guests. If your guests are traveling from a distance, they have the opportunity to make it into a full weekend.

Our Thursday package is excellent value, with prices starting from only £65 per guest.

Where on earth has January gone? Despite the darker nights and chillier temperatures, the first month of the year has absolutely whizzed by. As February approaches, those who have school holidays to work around will undoubtedly be starting to plan their half-term breaks – which is where we come in!

Christchurch is a fantastic place to head to for the half-term holiday as it offers such a huge variety of activities. If you’re looking to make sure the kids get outdoors and active over the break, then it’s certainly the place you need to be. Here’s what we think you should get up to if you visit over the holiday.
