I stayed at The Jefferson hotel from Friday, May 27th to Monday, May 30th, 2016 (Memorial Day). I had nothing but issues the entire time. I was upgraded to a King Suite room from just a King room. The only difference is that they give you keycard access to an internal room that you would otherwise just think is a door. Inside this room is a couch, desk, etc. to make the normal room into a “suite”. For starters, there was a half full bottle of ginger ale in the mini bar that the previous guest had left. I also noticed a partial pack of Parliament cigarettes from a previous guest in the closet. So, the room wasn’t thoroughly checked, cleaned, and restocked. The view outside from the room’s windows was hilariously poor. The windows in the room were frosted up to about eye level. If you stand on a chair to see what’s above the frosted part of the window, you have a lovely view of rusty old air conditioning units. Wonderful. I was unhappy with the room and asked if there was a room available on a higher floor. Although there was plenty available on their website, they said that that was the only suite they had left. The manager sent up a fruit and nut tray and an apology note, which was nice. But after the tray had been enjoyed, housekeeping never would take it away. It just sat there. After deciding to keep the room, things only got worse. The internal air conditioner (near the bed) is the loudest I've ever heard. There's a distracting roar and water trickling sounds that constantly run. It's so loud that the TV has to be turned up absurdly high just to hear it over the roar. It was difficult to sleep at night because of the noise. The second day, I came back to to notice that housekeeping had come to service the room. I had no water, the espresso tray wasn't restocked (missing creamer and sugar), and there were no washcloths. I had to go down the hall and get some from the linen closet myself. Later that night, I came back to the room to see that the bed had been turned down and I now had water and washcloths (after asking for them), but still no creamer or sugar. I went downstairs to ask for creamer (the single serving pods that don’t require refrigeration) and sugar packets. Room service came to the room with no sugar and a carafe of cold cream. The room has no refrigerator and I sent the server away since I had no way to store the cold cream until in the morning. This is the point when I had to ask him to take the fruit tray from before since housekeeping apparently won’t take it. I left the Jefferson hotel on Monday morning (Memorial Day) to go get breakfast (and coffee since I never got sugar to have coffee in the room) and to shop for souvenirs. I was on the way back to the hotel to pack up my things and leave before our late checkout time (1:30pm) when I received a call from someone at the hotel stating that the engineering team was investigating an issue in the hotel and needed access to my room. She asked if it was okay for them to enter my room. My response was, "No, they may not. I will be back to the hotel in 15 minutes to get my things and checkout. Then, you can be in the room all you want." When I came back to the hotel and entered our room, there was a girl and two or three maintenance men in our room. Whenever we told the girl that they weren't supposed to be in our room and that they needed to get out, she just kept arguing that they could enter if there was an emergency. There was no emergency. There was no fire or flood or electrical sparks flying out of the ceiling. Whatever the issue was could have waited. This infuriated me and I kicked them all out. Not only is this wrong, it's illegal! Our "Do Not Disturb" sign was ON and I did NOT give anyone permission to enter. Again, there was no impending emergency. Definitely not worth its 5-star status, its #1 spot on TripAdvisor, or the money it costs to stay there! I would never stay here again.

Hello , I'm Soo Jungwon from Seoul korea ! The hotel is very nice as I felt like I was back in time , when I stay I usually enjoy it ! But what is a nice place with unpleasant staff. The employees were not to welcoming of my son ! And repeatedly stared at him and asked him why he was there ! My son told me they didn't really like him sitting in the lounge . I asked him if they said anything to him directly . He replied no , but they spoke among other co-workers ,and he felt unwelcome . I'm not sure if it is because he is mixed he was treated this way . They shouldn't judge people by looks so much he said . I'm a mother who is not happy if my children aren't happy ! If a person has the money why question them?! Cash Money has one color in America and its green! Unless it's plastic ! Lol

The Jefferson is appointed in all the standard hotel trimmings, but the decore, trimmings, and service evoke something almost reminiscent of a redone mansion. Don't let the solid wood and leather furniture fool you though, this hotel is also very modern, with a library that can be turned private at the flick of a switch, TV's hidden in the bathroom mirrors, and several lighting options in each room. The hotel succeeds in a grand theme without feeling kitch, and is worth a stay, or at least a.duck.into the bar.

Almost without fail, no matter how "fancy" the hotel is supposed to be, the shower heads are always crusty. Not here.
