Food was excellent got the cornedbeef hash with sunny side eggs. Food was well seasoned and prepared. Establishment was very clean and well kept. The pancakes are not for those with small stomach's! Ordered a half order to share and even that was huge with a lot left over but they were delicious. It was a struggle to stop eating. Service was okay. There were smaller portions of pancakes available that i wish were offered to us. Also seemed as if other tables saw their server more then we saw ours. We definitely will be returning to do more "research"

Great food and friendly service. Chicken and waffles were amazing. The Voodoo benedict were really good too, the ranchero sauce had the perfect amount of heat!! Definitely coming back!!!

We had the best experience at this great place. First of all, the place was packed to say the least. While ordering coffee at the coffee bar, we had about a 45 min wait, I mentioned that I was getting very light headed. The man behind the coffee bar asked if he could get me some toast and jelly to help make me feel better. I accepted and this really did help me. The man didn't have to offer me anything, especially while he was unbelievably busy. Once we got our seat the service was great and the food was d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s! Looking forward to going back soon!

You can't deny that this place has awesome food. However, they have become a victim of their own success. The service is slow and rude and even when they are not busy, you will wait forever for your food and you'll be served with a good dose of attitude by the waitstaff. I have put up with this for a while and not complained, however last Sunday, we called to ask about parking due to the construction on Woodward. We were told quite rudely that there were meters "everywhere". We pointed out that we were calling due to having an elderly person with walking issues with us. We were attempting to plan ahead so we could get to the restaurant with all members of our family. The staffperson basically told us that it wasn't really their job to advise on parking and that no, it was against their policy to let us know if there was a long wait. My sister called back, thinking we got the malcontent on staff and was told by Courtney that it's a city and you have to figure out where to park and they don't comment on wait times. We were going to brave it anyway when I decided that I'm tired of the attitudes, bad service and general "we don't care, people will always love our food" attitude. We went to St. Cece's in Corktown, instead. They have an awesome menu, a much better decor, and an atmosphere where you can actually hear your party talk. They don't rush you in an effort to turn over tables, and the wait staff is excellent, as if the locally sourced food.. They have an outdoor patio which is dog friendly and live music on Sundays. There is something to be said for a little bit of kindness in this world. I don't think offering which cross street to drop someone who can't walk well off at is asking too much. I like the red velvet pancakes too but IHOP has them and their service is much better. I won't be eating here any more. I won't be suggesting that my out of town guests eat here anymore. There are too many new places opening up that are being nice to their customers.

Awesome restaurant - great customer service. Party of 20 for my fathers 80th birthday. I didn't hear one complaint. Robert was our waiter, he was very polite and friendly. Lots of Very Berry Stuffed French toast, and different omelettes. We split the Chicken Pomodoro Omelette, and the Very Berry Stuffed French Toast. All were satisfied.

Normally this place is crowded (and congested with the construction on Woodward), but the wife and I decided to venture over on Sunday afternoon. There weren't a ton of people so I figured we would get seated quickly. For a party of 2, we ended up waiting about 35 minutes. (we had tea and coffee during our wait) Finally, we were seated. Right away I noticed the ENORMOUS amount of gnats flying around our table and a plethora of them on the leather paneling on the walls. I was immediately turned off but was starving so decided to sit down away. It took the waitress about 15 minutes to come over to take our order. The ENTIRE time I swatted gnats while trying to eat my food (that took another 30 minutes) before they did! It was quite annoying! Anyway.. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros which had chorizo, sour cream, over medium eggs, quesadillas and salsa. It was delicious! The wife ordered Graham cracker crusted french toast, sausage patties and something else...(I had the cheesy grits too). The grits were a bit cold but edible. When the waitress got over with our bill, I expressed my concern about the gnats. She casually said, There's nothing we can do about them. We've wiped everything down..they must be attracted to the leather." OFFENDED! My wife said "This is sick" and she said "Excuse me?" Why was she so surprised?! Now, the wife and I eat at our fair share of restaurants from 1 to five stars so we know what a good dining experience entails. I was angry so we paid our bill and left. We will NOT be returning. Such a bad experience for such a nice restaurant in Downtown Detroit. This place seems to have such a nonchalant attitude about everything.
