A great place to visit. The staff are very knowledgeable and there to tell you the story of the past and help with any questions. There are a few rooms I'm the house that have the same exact furniture & layout as it did when President Andrew Jackson lived there. Now that's cool. The grounds are full of history and no matter your age, there's something for everyone to relate to. I hope this plantation is preserved for another 200+ years to come. Love some American history. If you have never been here, this is a must. It's fairly inexpensive as well. Enjoy. Ciao!

Loved this site, really want to go back. Went for a business function so didn't have time to walk around as much as I would have liked. Very large, very quiet, tons of birds. Was really hot the day I went. I would love to go back on a cooler day and be able to walk around, look around and enjoy the super quiet.

When you live here, it's easy to take places such as this for granted. Or worse yet, not even acknowledge their existence. This place is a piece of living history. Granted, it was part of an ugly past, and Mr. Jackson might not have been the best guy, but it was a different time. Try to put that aside and go see how people (Well, the people who were the 1% back then) lived.

The premises and settings are remarkably preserved. The historical "interpreter" said 98% of Jackson's estate is original. The physical aspect of the house, grounds and outbuildings are A+. Sadly, the interpreters, waiting in line, short tour of only the home, and no mention of Jackson's family cemetery made the overall experience earn an F+.

The property is well laid out with plenty of parking, admission is reasonable and the museum before you begin the your of the property is excellent. The self guided walking tour includs an audio device informing you about the rich history of the Jackson's. The house itself is a guided tour and the docents are superb. The house is well preserved and there are more buildings on the property to be seen as well. Go see it!

A great way to learn part of American history. The museum is very well done. The grounds were beautiful; my wife and I would've loved to explore more but our young kids started to lose steam after about 90 minutes.

Come and see America's pasttime at the Hermitage!
