+Tristan V it is true that newer versions of WPS are more secure, however, still not invulnerable. For instance, all a Kali user would do is use reaver for the exploit, while giving the proper time outs in-between each pin attempt. Knowing the AP model is half the battle, because then you can determine the fastest pin attempts and patterns that the AP will accept.
