My Company Christmas Party was held in Salem, Oregon this year. We choose to stay at The Grand Hotel and it was the best choice ever. Right down town Salem. The hotel is beautiful. The Staff is attentive, friendly and very helpful to out of town folks like us and the locals that came to the restaurant/bar. The service we received was incredible from the Front Desk to Room Service to the Bar/Restaurant and even the hotel housekeeping services were awesome. The room was spotless, it just felt like home. Fresh baked cookies in the afternoon/evening added a quaint touch. Top notch management and they have it down pat. Over all a terrific stay at a definite Grand Hotel. And my husband won the "ugliest Christmas Sweater" contest at the party. Room Tip: High Quality Hotel, reasonably priced, great service

Bentleys grills food was great. Hotel room was ok and we got the presidential suite. Over price for that room. Housekeeping left our dirty dishes in the vending and ice room all day. Front desk wouldnt help us.

Unfortunately i can give this hotel a good review due to them charging me because my parents smelled like smoke. I was there for my wedding on Oct 16 and my parents do smoke, however they did not smoke in the room and they charged me because the smelled like it and because they dispossessed of their cigarette butts in the garbage like they are supposed to instead of out the street. I do not smoke myself however i know that smokers do carry the smell with them after. That does not mean they smoked in the room. Its a shame that it will probably come down to other action to be taken to rectify this. Until im contacted by a manager this review will stand.

We loved The Grand Hotel and our stay there. The staff is exceptional, and single person made us feel so welcome. I love how big and roomie the rooms are and the little touches like the lighted makeup mirror. Also the microwave and mini refrigerator were so convenient as I love to have tea before bed. I will most definitely stay here again on my next visit. Thank you

The Grand Hotel was part of a destination wedding for a family friend. We had a very enjoyable stay. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The rooms were clean and well appointed, down to the fluffy towels and lovely complementary shampoos and soaps. It was easy to get to from the Portland airport and close to shopping and restaurants.

5 stars because there is nothing negative that I can write about this fine hotel. I stayed for 3 nights during a work conference and was totally impressed with everything. The location is excellent and easy to get in and out of the garage area. The lobby is beautiful and inviting with a great staff that is more than willing to help with any questions or problems that you may have. The rooms are very large with modern amenities. The complimentary breakfast was one of the best hotel comp breakfasts that I have had. I would definitely recommend The Grand Hotel if you are going to be in the Salem area!

The Grand Hotel in Salem sets the standard. It is beautiful, both inside and out, and features great dining, lovely accommodations and a helpful and friendly staff. The location is very convenient, especially for those visiting Willamette University. My family and I just returned from our third visit and appreciate how staying at the Grant Hotel turns a visit into an adventure. The free parking and the free breakfast are additional bonuses when staying at Salem's finest.

So last Friday (12-04-15) my girlfriends apartment had a fire. The next night her renters insurance placed here in a hotel of her choice and she picked The Grand. I used my debit card because hers was missing and hotel requires a $100 hold. On Thursday morning (12-10-15) I wake up to an alert from my bank. I login to my account to find that The Grand Hotel has charged my debit card $2,349. My heart immediately dropped because we were still staying there and have not even checked out. Plus on top of that I never authorized to pay for the hotel because the hotel already had an agreement with the renters insurance company. So I went down stairs and asked to talk to a manger. The women at the front desk went and got her manager who then introduced himself to me as Scott. Of course I was just out of my mind and upset and the first thing Scott tells me is to clam down after I just explained to him what just happened (very very unprofessional especially after making an unsurprised charge to my card). Scott told me that it was just a hold before he even did his real homework. He then goes behind the counter and goes "oh no it was a charge." That charge left me $429 negative in my account. Scott stated that it was an honest mistake. I advised Scott that your hotel just charge my card without my permission. The agreement was for a $100 hold. Plus we haven't even checked out yet so why would you even charge my card right now in the first place? He told me that the hotel clerk accidentally charged the wrong card (ok so give me back my money). Scott refunded my money but still as of right now I have no money to pay for anything and I told Scott that. Scott still said it was an honest mistake. I told him that the honest mistake just left me broke and without food, gas and everyday life needs. All Scott offered me was a $100 to Bentleys. Are you serious right now. I have no money and you want to give me gift cards??? So this happened on 12-10-15 and as of today 12-12-15. I had more bills come through my account and left me even more negative. Thanks The Grand Hotel for making my life a compete wreck and without any food, gas and whatever else l needed in my life until the Bank gives me back my money.
