Join a lunch briefing and discussion with two Kyrgyz participants in the 2016-2017 cohort of the Executive Master in Development Policies and Practices (DPP). They will be joined by a discussant, Dr Raphael Zaffran, Head of Customised Programmes, Executive Education at The Graduate Institute and former Head of DPP Central Asia & Caucasus.

Speakers will shed light on factors pushing women and young people to radicalize by examining case studies from various regions close to the border between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. They will discuss the impact of “hudjras,” home based religious education schools, on female radicalization and describe the main drivers and causes of radicalization among young people.

This year we faced multiple surprises: Brexit; the unexpected election results in the U.S. and elsewhere.

➤ Can we talk about the radical shift in the way campaigning should be done to be effective? What are the reasons?
➤ How should advocacy campaigners adapt to this rapidly changing landscape?
➤ Which events will influence and define the 2017 agenda?

Join us for a discussion around these questions and more.
