I went to this place last thursday - almost after 4 years when I used to do M-T travel for my job. Food quality has been deteriorated a lot especially when i look at the price tag. More importantly I had witnessed a group of 8 people who were drunk a lot and were very noisy. We ordered Paani Puri which were pretty ordinary, ras malai was a frozen nanank ras malai which was served to us. Bread basket doesn't had good nans. Two of the curries - malai kofta and nav ratan korma had exactly the same gravy. For 4 adults - this costs near to $100. Food quality was very ordinary - food was very much accustomed to local american - by any means it was not tasting like indian food or at least punjabi food. It's a blot on punjabi food. Will never visit again.

Just redeemed my groupon for The Dhaba. The food was OK. I ordered Paneer Kadai, tandoori roti, choley bhature, and lassi. The roti was not cooked well, there were thick edges of raw dough. Paneer kadai had laciness in it like yougurt does, and the taste was not the best. The Kadai tasted like it wasn't cooked to its perfection. Choley i haven't had yet but by the looks of it, it tastes simple as well....nothing that'll make your taste buds wanting more. If it was more flavorful and well done, i think this can be a great indian resturant.

I love Indian food and I have tried a lot of Indian restaurants in Arizona, but this place is by far the best. They have great lunch specials. I had the Kashmiri chicken tikka masala with a spicy level of 7. It was amazing. Everything is fresh and has a great authentic taste. I also got garlic naan, basmati rice, lentil soup, and rice pudding. The host and server were great and the atmosphere was pleasant. I will definitely be back.

I love The Dhaba and its authentic street side food from the Punjab state in India. I love their paneer preparations and appetizers. No wonder it is highly ranked and one of the coveted restaurants in Tempe. I would highly recommend Dhaba to anyone craving for delicious authentic indian food.

Really thankful for this gem in the desert. I loved the food, the intimate environment, and great service. Our meal started with a fresh salad with a fragrant fruit salad dressing. For our entrée we had the lamb vindaloo with medium spice and my wife had the chicken tikka masala. Along with the entrées came the basmati rice and garlic naan. The meal was delicious and filling. It doesn't look like a lot of food at first, but the dish sizes are deceiving. To finish off the meal was a rice pudding which cleaned the palate, and was amazing. Overall, the Dhaba is the best Indian Restaurant in AZ. I loved it and highly recommend it.

Costs more than India Oven (which I also like), but the difference in the quality of the food is noticeable. I'll hit India Oven for the buffet if going at lunchtime and The Dhaba if going for dinner. My only gripe is they charge for the naan and they're stingy with it, whereas India Oven always keeps you stocked up on it for free.
