Get the Christian Theocrats out of the picture. There wouldn't be a "Crisis of Christianity".
From reading the questions I know one thing for certain. Andrew has made his own version of God. You can use the name Jesus all you want, but that does not mean you're a Christian. A Christian will not be partial to the word of God. Jesus said in John 14 "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments" then later in the garden He prayed (John 17:17) "Sanctify them (believers) in the truth; Your word is truth." Everything that is in the Bible is the truth. It is the Father's word. A Christian cannot pick and choose what they prefer to obey, but they must come to the hard truth with humility and reverence knowing that it is there for God's glory and for their sanctification. Anyone reading this please read the whole 17th chapter of John before commenting. Lay aside all opinions and all preferences and try to put yourself at the feet of Jesus. He clearly depicts what a true Christian is in this world. From what Andrew writes, he seems to avoid Jesus's Lordship in every aspect of life. King Solomon notes something very important in the last chapter of Ecclesiastes "The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil." Ecclesiastes 12:13-14. He truly means everything. That's why we need Christ. He did everything and those who repent and believe in Him must work diligently to conform to His righteousness, not only His love.
"If you love me, You will keep my commandments",
But when the Pharisees had heard that He had put the Sadducees to silence, they
were gathered together. Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked Him a question,
tempting Him, and saying, Master, which is the greatest commandment in the Law? Jesus
said unto him, Thou shalt love thy God with all thy heart; and with all thy soul, and with all
thy mind. This is the first and great commandment And the second is like unto it; Thou shalt
love thy neighbour as thyself On these two commandments hang all the Law the prophets
(Matthew, 22: 34-40).
If this is a crisis, then what is Mexico.
