You've got cast iron questions, Michael Symon has answers!
I've been rinsing out my skillet and then using kosher salt and a paper towel to rub out any stuck on food. Then I rinse it out again, towel dry, then oil up the pan for the next use. The pan seems to be doing fine like that. But I have heard that if you or someone in your household accidently cleans the pan with soap then the best way to re-season the pan is the way that Michael just instructed in the video. As for tasting soap, well I doubt you will if you rinse out the soap out thoroughly before oiling up and baking.
