Great place for a special occasion, the food is amazing. The ambience is a little sterile, however the food delivers you to a different place. The service is the best in the city providing 5 star treatment. The drinks are creative and delicious with a twist. They have specials all the time, so try it you won't be disappointed.

This is one of the most amazing dining experiences I've had. The food is exquisite -- the kind that's prepared to such a level of perfection, you'd lick the plate if you didn't think people would stare. It's expensive, to be sure, but you won't ever leave feeling like you paid too much for what you just enjoyed. They also took great care of one of my dining companion's gluten restrictions and made sure she had a meal should could enjoy in its entirety without concern or by leaving certain dishes on the plate. Just wonderful!

The first time I went here, I thought it was a teaching restaurant. But no, they give great service just because they actually care. From start to finish, the experience is really good, and Josh Watkins is an amazing chef! They have a great 3 course, fixed price menu that seems to change once in a while. If you want to try them out, go for this. It's a great deal and a great way to sample his genius!

The food is fresh, inventive and masterly prepared. Chef Chris Wilson and his staff defiantly kept our taste buds wanting more. Service was a big plus with a friendly staff who know their menu and guided my party thru a 7crs wine paring .. Just the best meal we've ever had..

Exquisite food and attentive staff in a classy environment are 3 descriptions for The Carillon. On their website, they state their restaurant is a “New American Grill with a sophisticated twist” which is an excellent way to explain Chef Watkin’s masterpieces for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. Try the 3 or 6 course tasting; otherwise, the Bacon & Eggs, Seared Scallops or Short Ribs are excellent choices. TIP: Reservations available through Open Table. Free parking with validated ticketed in parking garage, located southside of 20th & Whitis.

This restaurant is just WOW! It is a little hard to find as it is hidden in the AT&T conference center on the UT campus, but totally worth scavenging for since it is a great spot to go on a splurgy date night! You can park at the garage across the way, which isn't a bad jaunt. So once you go into the place it feels like one of those amazing little Parisian restaurants from the underground city...the arches as you walk in with different quotes is great and it just has a very rustic meets nouveau ambiance and atmosphere from the decor to the vibe. It is a 5-star experience all around from the reservation to being seated to the superb menu and wine selections to being attended by the excellent and knowledgeable waitstaff! We started off our "soiree de romance" by ordering some champagne with the ahi poke (which was an excellent pairing), but were surprised first by an excellent sweet potato amuse bouche sent by the chef with his compliments that actually made our mouths happy! We then had the lamb and braised short ribs (which we shared) and paired with a fantastic Chateauneuf du Pape! Our waiter, who was just the best, came out with another Cotes du Rhone and poured a comped glass between us since we were some of the last people in the restaurant and he thought we would enjoy it! We finished our meal with the exquisite fita cheesecake for dessert which we paired with some great espresso. An absolutely fabulous dining experience for couples, new and old! We will definitely be back once we save up again for a special occasion since a meal here will put a nice dent in the bank account, but every savory morsel is worth every penny! #12DaysofChristmasATX
