At a recent #gardening lecture at the Mansfield Garden ClubK (my newest talk, "Tips Tricks and Trade Secrets"). Someone had brought in this beautiful peperomia and honestly I had a hard time concentrating it was that beautiful! What do you think of this foliage?

I like the way this tulip, which is doing its own thing, makes the whole design better.

Be a tulip!

I was honored to be one of the women chosen by Ashley Walker of Westwood High School to interview during her senior project on women empowerment (the picture is from her awesome reception at the Westwood, MA Public Library.) She asked me a very insightful question during our interview "What 3 words would you use to describe yourself?"

I chose "resilient, honest and faithful".

One of my favorites:
For this project, we turned a large, relatively sparse garden into a welcoming backyard habitat. Our clients, avid bird lovers, wanted to encourage more species to come and visit.

We worked on creating a garden habitat that would have four-season interest and take advantage of as much native plant material as possible. By using native plants we encouraged birds, insects, and wildlife that are able to use the food that these plants provide. Shrubs like viburnum provide berries for the birds but also beautiful fall color, dogwoods add winter interest while a variety of ornamental grasses give movement to the garden.

If slugs are eating your hosta, why not try beating them to it?
Hosta leaves are edible and taste somewhere between lettuce and young spinach. Learn More: http://thecapturedgarden.com/hosta-for-dinner/uncategorized/

Every so often I come across a product I can’t help but share. Growing up I was always taught to send a thank you note if I had been the recipient of something nice. Not an email or text but a real, genuine written response. So I still send thank you notes. And as a gardener, I have finally found the perfect ones.

From MercedesHarris | Graphic Design comes a range of wonderful and visually fun ways to let people know you appreciate what they did.

These thank you notes are perfect for gardeners and I will be buying in bulk since I have so many people to thank!

➡️ To purchase visit Mercedes’s Etsy shop:

No need to thank me, save those notes for someone else 😊
