Online magazine Highsnobiety are the cool kids at summer camp. They included us in their 24-Hour Guide to Vancouver and now we're giggling self-consciously and high-fiving ourselves like a bunch of dorks. But you should check it out because it's full of excellent tips. http://ow.ly/O9hlv

Noticed there are more and more former motels being renovated and restyled into cute little, modern-retro hotels like The Burrard? You're not the only one! Our favourite tourism industry marketing website Skift recently posted on the trend and included us! http://theburrard.com/blog/?p=1231

It's no secret that #theburrard loves bikes - we think borrowing one of our Brodie Bikes cruisers is the best way to see Vancouver while you're here! So we're thrilled to be included in this article on Vancity Buzz on cycling and tourism in our city. http://ow.ly/OZrUe
Much has been written and studied about the financial return when cities invest in safe, separated bicycle infrastructure. It is estimated, for example, that for every kilometre one of its citizens cycles, our society earns 18 cents in increased public health, air and sound quality, and decreased collisions, congestion, and road maintenance. Inversely, every kilometre …

Officially it's called "Honda Celebration of Light," but Vancouverites just call it "the fireworks." Here's why we think you should come visit during our fireworks festival! http://theburrard.com/blog/?p=1314

One of our favourite events of the summer is Vancouver's Pride Parade & Festival. From July 25 to August 2, Vancouver will be awash in even more rainbow flags than usual! We especially love this year's parade them: gender superheroes!

We know this has been keeping you up at night. Presenting "The Definitive Guide To Beer Glasses." You're welcome! http://ow.ly/NTTbr
A nicely crafted beer is a thing of beauty, but if you're pouring it into just any old grimy pint glass, you're not letting that brew reach its true potential. The right glass is key to getting every last boozy drop of pleasure.

Was here for a long stay in May and really, REALLY liked this hotel! It had all the items that you'd expect from a hotel, and a few more! It's a converted motor lodge, but they did a really good job of it! The 2nd floor is a lush garden area to sit and relax, read a paper perhaps, but it's definitely a get-away space! Rooms were standard size as I was in a double, and the bathrooms were redone as well. While the bathroom sink was small and the water pressure could have used a boost (4th Floor), it was still very functional! The Staff is what made this an excellent stay: warm, friendly, willing to provide advice, help with a cab, sign you up for free bikes to tour the town! They are the reason that I'd come back here! Really good job!!

Would give no star if possible. Disgusting hotel. Foul odor in courtyard, cheap, scratchy linens and towels with hair everywhere. Hair in bathroom, on sheets, on floor. Fingerprints on the window, expired milk in the fridge. Just pitiful service. Front desk refused to move me to a room that was in better repair. Staff walking around both rude and unhelpful, dressed sloppy. Not sure who would pay to stay here, but I definitely won't make the mistake again.

Great hotel. Bargain price: $78 for 2 double beds. Fast wifi, really helpful staff, good ethical approach to waste in line with the city. An easy walk to the main shopping streets, metro to the airport (Yaletown 6 blocks downhill). Davie St just nearby has a communal veggie patch on the corner ! Yodoka japanese cafe just up the hill from there was a great find. Buses will get you everywhere. Didnt use the Burrard bikes but happy to know they are there., Some reviewers whinge that that there arent enough bikes and they're not maintained. Another reviewqer complained re a few homel;ess people outside, and 'insulting' signage. I say to you both: get a life. Free bikes arent an essential part of the offer. Get up early or go hire one. Talk to the staff rather than whine online. The signage we thought was witty and in keeping with the hotel's general approach. Vancouver is hiomeless friendly and The Burrard calls for assistance if someone has been hanging around outside for more than 15 minutes. If you can't handle what a city brings, don't travel. Great place and highly recommended, but bring galoshes for Vancouver downpoiurs.

I ranked this hotel as "okay" for one simple reason, the bikes. As cyclists ourselves we stayed here multiple times for the access to bikes and the hotel's close proximity to Vancouver's new bike lanes. However this is merely a gimmick. The bikes are in poor mechanical condition, something that a quick 15 minute tune up by a professional could solve but the hotel doesn't seem to find this a priority, it could be done at night when all the bikes have to be back. What is even worse though is that they had maybe 8 bikes for the 100+ guests that stay in the hotel, meaning all bikes are gone by 8am most days leaving you to walk 8 blocks to pay almost $100 to rent. If this hotel is to advertise it bikes, it should actually have them for their guests to use. Otherwise you are betting off staying anywhere else and just renting the way many frustrated guests did anyway, including myself. Until the Burrard gets more bikes, I will be staying elsewhere.
