Nothing goes better with a sausage than a frosty local beer! We are big fans of Chinatown's Bestie (the ONLY place in town to hit up if you're into Currywurst) and so we love their new 2km beer program. Not that it's a huge challenge - East Vancouver has dozens of them! Along with the breweries included on Bestie's new list, a few of our other East Van favourites include Bomber Brewing, Postmark Brewing and Parallel 49 Brewing Company. http://ow.ly/pSeL309ql2V

What a thrill to have AD España do a story on The Burrard! We've always wanted to be in Architectural Digest!

The forecast shows that more snow is expected this weekend. We love getting out into the white stuff for a powder adventure (see a previous post for our favourite Vancouver outdoor activities), but if you're more of a fair-weather sort, or are just done with the snow by now, there are lots of indoor activities that you can enjoy while you're visiting us.

Granville Island is a year-round favourite with its indoor market and plenty of artisan studios to explore. Of course, any of our galleries and museums are a good choice for chilly days: try Vancouver Art Gallery downtown, or head out to Kitsilano for Museum of Vancouver and the Vancouver Maritime Museum (official). And you don't have to be a kiddo to spend the day at the Vancouver Aquarium!

With a mild climate throughout the year paired with beautiful scenery, Vancouver is a favourite among runners! And visiting the city for a marathon or a fun run is a great way to balance all of the eating and drinking that you're destined for. Inside Vancouver has compiled this great list of events for runners, from the challenging to the downright silly, from the BMO Vancouver Marathon through to the Vancouver Night Nation Run. http://ow.ly/pFDS308YrSC

Today is the first full day of Vancouver International Wine Festival, the city's very own celebration of the grape. It's one of the biggest and oldest consumer wine tastings in the world and runs through until Sunday. There are just a few events that still have tickets available, including the Saturday lunch event "Celebrating Canada's 150th." You'll get to sample from the 76 Canadian wineries pouring at the lunch, while enjoying some amazing food. http://ow.ly/7WEd308YqZ0

Just because you don't ski or snowboard, it doesn't mean you can't enjoy the snow here in Vancouver! This post on the Inside Vancouver blog outlines the joys of snow tubing up at Cypress Mountain (which is really, really fun!), but there are other options for the non-skiers among us. They say that if you can walk, you can snow-shoe, and personally, we love treking through the snowy alpine forrest up at Grouse Mountain Resort before sitting down to enjoy a pot of fondue! Or go toboganning at Mount Seymour! All three of Vancouver's local mountains are a lot of fun, no matter your level of experience in the snow. http://ow.ly/q5ep308JBDl
